Third of Russians think sun spins round Earth?

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Does the sun revolve around the Earth? One in every three Russians thinks so, a spokeswoman for state pollster VsTIOM said on Friday.

In a survey released this week, 32 percent of Russians believed the Earth was the center of the Solar system; 55 percent that all radioactivity is man-made; and 29 percent that the first humans lived when dinosaurs still roamed the Earth.

"It's really quite amazing," spokeswoman Olga Kamenchuk said of the survey that polled 1,600 people across Russia's regions in January, with a 3.4-percent margin of error.

"All of them (the questions) were absolutely obvious... the data speaks of the low levels of education in the country."

However, people tend to forget what they have been taught at school if it is not part of daily use, she added: "I wonder whether our colleagues in other countries would find any different."

The study also found that women were more likely than men to believe the scientific fallacies.

So the Greek Orthodox church is doing Godly work?

I'm a little confused about them (and other "orthodox" churches) they claim that they are the continuation of the churches mentioned in Paul's letters. Are they?

They may or may not be continuations but... consider the fact that they were so wayward in Paul's day that he had to specifically write to them, chastising them for their many errors. I mean, they'd barely been around a couple years and already Paul's having to fix them. For example:

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

I can't imagine how backwards they've gotten after a couple thousand years of insular thinking, infighting, and corruption. There's no way they could possibly maintain themselves, meeting Paul's expectations, for so long.

I thought hey were schismatic Catholic churches, just as damned to Hell as the Catholics themselves. Saints and idols and apocryphal additions to the Holy Bible and the whole works. But I admit I don't really know that much about them. Hopefully a Pastor can weigh in.

Amen! Everything going on in Russia right now is thanks to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Landover Baptist Missionaries. Brother Wide-Open might take a que from our Russian team. They're educating millions of communists and doing God's Work! I don't know what he's been doing in Europistan all these years.

Things are happening fast, people! Keep those Love Offerings coming in. We need to show the world that God's Holy Word is the only truth! If The Bible says that the earth is the center of the universe, then by God it is!
