Friends, I cannot tell you how hard it has been to know the difficulties some families have because we have not allowed child day care in Freehold. So many have said, "My husband left, I cannot work without some day care." "We cannot keep our home unless we both work. We need day care to work."
Allow me to explain our decision again. Your City Government believes mothers take care of children in Christian homes. Day care goes against what God intended.
A couple of days ago, I was reminded why keeping day care out of Freehold was a good policy. The Mayor of our neighboring city, Waukee, Iowa, called to tell me he wished he had done the same thing.
He had allowed a day care in one of his churches, Point of Grace. Then, Point of Grace made a Christian decision. It annouced that none of the day care employees could 1) look at porn, 2) sleep with the same sex, 3) drink too much alcohol or 4) have sex before marriage.
So, now some of the homers and drunks who worked at the day care are up in arms. They are complaining to their Mayor that this isn't fair.
I had to smile. I don't claim to do everything right in Freehold, but keeping out day care was a good decision.
