You are of course right, Brother. But Sister Handmaiden makes an excellent point here. The very nature of the deathbed generally means that people are in no condition to remember the login to their bank accounts, let alone change their testamentary instructions.

We need to approach them much, much sooner - perhaps in the home for the terminally bewildered or, in extremis as the Roman heretics say, in the ambulance or the emergency room.

It just struck me that we can increase the number of deathbed conversions either by increasing our missionary efforts or by increasing the number of people dying. It's not a fully formed plan, just a thought.

Receiving a tithe from those on the death bed is a problem. If they are of "full mind" they might resist both the conversion and the turning over of their money.

I've been studying the probate process and believe there is an opening for us there. Even if there is a will, all debts to others are to be paid before heirs receive their money. My thinking is we at Landover Baptist could submit a huge bill for our services. What could be more valuable to the deceased than a reservation in heaven? We would need to keep a log for all the time we spent praying and telling the comatose about Jesus. New York Lawyers charge a few thousand dollars an hour. Why not us?
