    Godly Suggestions for Mother's Day.

A while back I became concerned about the way Mother's Day has become a liberal statement on the importance of women in everything, not only motherhood. I asked Brother Godfly to head up a committee of men to write some guidelines for celebrating Mother's Day. I want to thank Godfly and his committee for their report which includes suggestions to make this a special day for our LBC mothers:

    1. Mothers, suggest to the men in your house you will prepare a lavish brunch and they need not take you to a restaurant.

    2. Men should dine first at a Mother's Day brunch lest there not be enough of some items in the spread.

    3. A prayer should precede the brunch with reference to the mother and several references to the husband for his generosity on this special day.

    4. Women need to work at establishing a balance between accepting honor on this day but remaining in their secondary role.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers of Freehold.

Re: Godly Suggestions for Mother's Day.

I'm humbled Mayor, that you would take the time out of your busy schedule to remind us the true meaning of Mother's Day: Gratitude.

I am grateful Mr. Etheldreda took me in under his authority, accepted the risks and responsibilities so many years ago. He has been unwavering in his dedication to the LORD through his service to the LORD, and my service to Mr. Etheldreda must never fall short. That he would risk dishonoring the LORD by bringing me into his home is humbling indeed.

For this, I am eternally grateful.

I'm grateful to my sons, for without them I could never hope for Salvation (that is of course, if I continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety; 1 Timothy 2:15). To see my children's faces is to be reminded my own excruciating pain and suffering and vulnerability to death in childbirth. It is to be reminded of the time God cursed Eve for her deception and feminist loathing of men. It is naturally, to be reminded of my lowly state, my constant humility, through which I know the value of gratitude.

For this, I am eternally grateful.

I'm most especially grateful to my Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, who died temporarily to remove the curse of death and damnation He had earlier cast upon all mankind a long time ago. In gratitude, I am honored to love Him by serving Him without reservation, without condition!

For this, I am eternally grateful.

So yes, dear Mayor, Mother's Day is a day of serving the LORD through serving our families. An entire day dedicated to spotlighting our responsibility of servitude, of having been created specifically to be a helpmeet (Genesis 2:18), is an awkward "celebration" at best. Why, we might as well be celebrating sin, such as it is the reason we have come to know Christ. But to have a moment to be reminded of my duty is more than enough honor for me.

For this, I am eternally grateful.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Re: Godly Suggestions for Mother's Day.

Thank you for your humble and heartfelt post, Sister E.

We know God wants us to stay in our status, women not to climb, men not to fall. It takes effort to do this, especially when Mother's Day tempts change.
