Notice to Students and Parents:
I've been concerned for some time about the school mascot at Freehold High School. I don't have to tell you, we've been known since way back when as the Spartans.
Now, back in the day, Spartans may have seemed like a harmless mascot. But, as we learn more, I have concluded we cannot provide Christian education in our public school unless we drop this mascot.
One problem is the actual Spartans were heathen pagans. We also know there was considerable homosexual activity in Greece at the time. The mascot, Spartans, has also been used by a nearby Soccer team. Soccer a homosexual sport.
I know you will be excited to learn the name of our new mascot. The mascot for Freehold High is now the She-Bears.
The She-Bears will be a mascot to rally around. Our sports teams and fans will now have a mascot that not only befits a Christian public school like Freehold, but has a story that teaches us all.
The She-Bears provide us with a lesson in bravory and Biblical behavior.
In the Bible story, the brave She-Bears came out of the words and punished children who were disrespectful to adults. They torn the children apart. We can say simply, lesson learned.
So, all together now: GO SHE-BEARS!!!!
