I don't think you cannot blame all war and genocide on religion per se. Torquemada was religious, but Pol Pot was not. Vlad the Impaler was born Eastern Orthodox Christian and later converted to Roman Catholicism, but for all his sadism he was a piker compared to Genghis Khan, who probably followed a shamanist religion of some sort. (We don't know exactly what religion because some idiot lost Genghis's voter registration card late in the 15th century...)

While Cortez and Pizarro Christianized the natives of America with swords, muskets, and human bonfires, Mao's cultural revolution was fundamentally atheistic in it's attempt to "convert" the intellectuals of China to fertilizer.

This area is for the smart people to talk. We don't expect some dumb unsaved woman like you would understand some of the things we discuss in here. Women are just not as smart as men, that's a fact you have to live with every day. So I'll try not to rub it in. Women have smaller heads than men, and far less brain matter. We don't expect them to get into some of the deeper and more intelligent discussions here. We don't want to make them feel as inadequate as they really are, so we have this men only area. It's really that simple.

Also, I don't understand how you can say that it is poorly written. You must not be much of a literature buff, eh? The Bible is a very peotic piece of work (aside from the fact that it is the word of God). In fact, much of the worlds more contemporary texts make allusions to the Bible; very few people will take your criticisms on the written word seriously if you have not read the Bible. Furthermore, men spent their lives compiling the books of the Bible into what they are today. Have you ever dedicated your life to anything (no, perfecting masturbation doesn't count)?
