Of course it is only a photograph, so I can't tell for certain. But it doesn't look as though his hands are flapping in the breeze. As all homers are visibly limp-wristed, I would think a judge would be hard pressed to conclude such a firm-wristed man was a fanny bandit.

Haven't we all, brother. I still make mistakes from time to time. In fact, in just a few days I will be flying out to SE Asia to make some dreadful mistakes with chink girls. These days I need pills and a medical device to make mistakes, but they're still just simple mistakes that could happen to anyone. Like losing your passport on holiday. The military has assumed police duties there, and not only have they started harassing the poor tour guides, they are quick to make up outright lies about solicitation of prostitution and human trafficking and seize your portable assets. Right before I headed off to Switzerland I was ministering to some nice teen girls in Bangkok outside of Baccara on Soi Cowboy, and the next thing I knew several jackbooted thugs were surrounding me and shouting. When one of them finally spoke English, he asked what I was offering the 14 year old twins. I quickly pulled out a stack of Chick tracts and showed them to him, but had forgotten that I had stashed $1,500 dollars in them that comes to about 52000 Thai Baht, which by an astounding coincidence is the going rate for identical twin underage prostitutes there!

I was detained for several hours before a kindly military official accepted a large stack of Chick tracks to drop the charges. Worse yet, the two young lasses were nowhere to be found, their souls unsaved. It was an unsettling experience. I'll be ministering elsewhere until things settle down there.

Good advice about Cambodia, Brother Des. Thailand is clearly living on it's Vietnam War era reputation. These days, Cambodia is the favored country for traveling groups of family-values Republicans, especially those over age 60. We're even thinking about holding the upcoming Republican National Convention right here in Phnom Penh.

Just a footnote about those 14-year-old street walkers. I know some people think that "age doesn't matter," but I speak from experience when I say that most of the Christian missionaries here in Cambodia would never touch a kid that old. In general, 13 is retirement age in "the business," if you know what I mean. Getting involved with elderly prostitutes does happen, but it's a rare fetish.

Thank you for doing this expose on the shabby treatment of the elderly in this backward country Brother Fred.

While rubber trees might flourish in Cambodia's tropical climate, it's a shame that the destitute have to reach such a low level to use rubber to clothe themselves (and I was not aware that these backward third world economies even knew how to vulcanize rubber). Sure, it might help when the monsoons come - but it appears they can only afford so little of it.

Why is no-one asking about the hideous blackmail attempt? Whatever Mr. Hastert did or didn't do is well past time limits for the alleged offense. But the blackmail is an ongoing crime. Where's the outrage???
