The Smileys this board uses are very racist!!! Why do you assume everybody posting is white? When an African-American person like me makes a post and wants to smile and does this: it is discriminatory against me. Why are there not Smilies with BROWN SKIN? Oh wait...I found one...



Oh yes! Let's LAUGH at the lynching of innocent African-Americans at the hands of evil white people! Oh wait, I found another non-white Smiley...

Although Sister Talitha pointed out the mutli-culturality of our smilies, she did miss a few that I thought I would call attention to:

For our friends north of the border. Notice the typical canuck behavior.




Here is not one, not two, BUT THREE for our Afro American friends.

Here are two for Mexicans. I thought we had one with a lawn mower too, maybe I missed it.






We have these two to honor our Muslim friends and their traditions.

I found this to be an interesting if not particularly amusing thread. What stuck me most was not the undertone of racism, but the lack of focus on what I believe to be the primary function of this forum, which is to spread the word of Jesus.

The sermon today at the Colleton A.M.E Church was an examination of Matthew chapter 5 and how we can apply it in our daily lives. Matthew 5 is Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. I think you all could do well by re-reading it.

Matthew 5 contains this scripture:

3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

It is disappointing to see that some still refer to black people who are educated and successful as "uppity". You might want to reflect back on the Bush/Cheney administration and recall that there were more black people in the cabinet than in any prior administration. Have you so quickly forgotten Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice?
