It seems we have not talked about agnostics lately.

Basically an Agnostic says "I don't know or care if religion is true, I'm neutral, I'll await proof of which religion is true, if any."

So that means agnostics are saying "I don't know if highjacking a plane and flying it into a skyscraper sends you to a paradise filled with virgins."

They're saying "I'm neutral about the Carthaginian belief that murdering children on altars is how you keep the rain falling."

They're saying "I can't disprove the Thuggee belief that strangling random people by the roadside keeps the world in balance. I don't know or care if it's right or wrong.

Agnostics are nothing but spineless cowards who are trying to escape responsibility for their inactivity in the face of evil.

Any agnostics here that have enough spine to disagree with me?

I seriously doubt it, Brother Jeb. They are a spineless bunch. They don't even have the guts to defy Jesus directly, like the atheists do. They are a bunch of lazy cowards.

I can see their answer now:
"Well, maybe we are cowards, and maybe we're not. Which answer are you looking for?"

And you are right -- I think that's the root of their problem. They try to come across as sophisticated intellectuals standing above the fray, reserving judgment until all of the "facts" are in -- while there is no pressure on them.

But tie them to a wooden stake or put them before a firing squad, and I think that they would either deny or embrace God in a heartbeat -- whichever choice would let them keep their pathetic life for the moment.

I have never heard of an agnostic being martyred for their "maybe faith".

Yes, agnostics are all those terrible things you have said, Brother Jeb, and I wholeheartedly agree. However, on the positive side, since they are so weak-willed and mentally clouded, they make good potential candidates for being converted. Their psychological makeup means they are primed for re-education and indoctrination.

The key is getting an agnostic to break down. When they fall onto their own emotions, they have nothing to stand on. A Christian will fall back on his faith, an atheist will fall back on "logic" or "reason", but an agnostic has nothing. They reach an existential predicament where they see a looming chasm underneath them. They realize they need to fill that chasm with something -- anything.

This is where the ease of conversion comes in. Since they are in a frail, emotional state, they are not using logic or reason. This is perfect for getting them to convert to Christianity. I have converted many weak-willed agnostics using this method over the years.

From an Agnostic perspective, there are equally fervent representatives of equally meritorious (to them, of course) claims to God's good favor. An Agnostic might submit that other editions of the Judeo-Christian Bible, for example, more closely translate the original text than KJV1611. This might lead them to check the "undecided" box at the polls, so to speak, for reasons based as much in the sincerity of exactly the worship you mention as their own comfort.

'Agnostic' is actually a relatively new word, as you certainly know. Before its etymology, the eternal "we" and "they" was much more strict and, accordingly, deceptively separatist...
