    Favorite Bible Qoute

I have not seen a thread like this yet, so I'll start one off. I don't have my King James handy, so I'll have to use my New American Bible edition.

    Psalms137:7-9

7 "Remember, LORD, against Edom that day at Jerusalem.
They said: "Level it, level it down to its foundations!"
8 Fair Babylon, you destroyer, happy those who pay back
the Evil you have done us.
9 Happy those who seize your children
and smash them against a rock.

    -Amen

Next time you post scripture, please use the KJV. If you don't own a KJV, buy one. Until then, use a website such as Biblegateway.

Now then, my favorite Bible verse is the entire Bible. They're all good!

I often quote Malachi 2:3 to sinners: Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

(Sorry for the double post)To correct myself, I found my King James, here is the actual text:

7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation thereof.
8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

This is a great selection showing the Power of the Lord, but you really need to invest in a King James Version 1611 Bible. One way to pick one up cheap is in a rent-by-the-hour motel room. Of course, you can't just steal the Bible, so you need to replace it with something of equal spiritual value, such as a pile of Chick Tracts. That way, nobody's spiritual needs will go unmet when your new Bible has gone missing.

You should also be aware that Biblegateway.com has a full text King James Bible online for free.

That might be difficult to pick up with the full apocrypha in it and it would certainly be harder to carry.

I didn't know Landover condoned the Gideon's edit. Just the important parts, which include only the New Testament with Psalm and Proverbs.

Apparently, someone stays in the fancy hotels which have the full KJV1611.

Hello room service? Yes, I would like a Reuben sandwich without cheese, no butter on the bread and a heaping order of Tobit.

            Thanks,

We all have our crosses to bear. Anyway, as the translators of the KJV made clear in their notes, the Apocrypha are useful historical and educational material, but they are not the inerrant Word of God, so you need to be careful when reading them.

I'm trying to help a guy on a shoestring budget. Better a New Testament than no Testament at all. But you're right, it is much better to have the full Bible.

Apparently, someone stays in the fancy hotels which have the full KJV1611.
I don't stay in fancy hotels yet, I haven't been blessed the way that, say, a Landover pastor has. After I've learned how to pull teeth and fit crowns and dentures at the most advantageous price, then I'll stay in fancy hotels. I don't, however, stay in the fleabags you apparently frequent, either.

Hello room service? Yes, I would like a Reuben sandwich without cheese, no butter on the bread and a heaping order of Tobit.
Tobit contains a wonderful message of hope--if you are blinded by bird droppings and pray for death, God will send an angel to heal you. This happens more often than you might think. Also, it tells us that if you're going to go to Media, take an angel and your dog with you for protection. Media is a rough place (and was even before Achmejinedad took over). Oh, one more uplifting lesson, if a demon kills every man you are going to marry on your wedding night, you're never going to have sex without God's assistance.

              Thanks
              You are most welcome.

A common misconception. The Gideon's people actually want you to take that 'Bible'. They'll send the hotel another one for free. I take them all the time while on business trips. Great kindling.

And it was dreamed again of the priest Nophra-Ka and of the words he spake at his death, how the son would rise to claim the title, and the son would rule the world in his father’s name, and the son would revenge his father’s murder, and the son would call the Beast that is worshipped, and the sands would drink the blood of the seed of the Pharaoh. In this manner did Nophra-Ka prophecy. Excerpt from the Kitab al Azif.
