Re: "But I'm Too NICE To Go To Hell!"

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god"

there is no such thing as "too nice to go to hell". all we can do is whats right by god and beg for forgivness for our sins and hope that we will one day be rewarded.

This thread is a text book for rebuking heathens and saving souls. I am weeping tears of joy at the wonderful pastoral guidance and advice.

Our God is an awesome God and Landover is an awesome church!

    Praise!

The strength of one's wrongness does not allocate credit to the initial flawed premise. Also, I would say it is an exerercize in innacuracy to suggest all people believe with the same degree of certainty. Some are stronger, some are weaker. As established before a majority of these people are wrong. All of these persona-centric theologies are simply too divergent to be accurate. There is one truth to the reality of our existence. (I suppose if one were so inclined they could try and pull something to the effect of "Maybe different religions are true to different people" but thuis would simply be an exercize in yet another relgious viewpoint to invalidate all others from)

First of all, with the interlinked nature of the modern world, there are few places today that deny people access to the information they need to turn to Jesus Christ. Second of all, anyone who never questions their religion has built their house apon the sand so to speak. If you have not placed your faith through the crucible of introspection, it's a distinct possibility you have a weak and fragile faith.

The fact there are so many wrong beliefs does not make a lie any less harmful. The "if everyone jumped off a cliff argument" works well in this situation. One cannot divert personal responsability for religious innacuracy simply because that's what everyone else is doing these days. Everyone has an equal responsability to find the truth and attempt to understand it.

A shared opinion or perspective likewise does not validate the results. If I have a strawberry under a plate and you have a grape, if we both believe each other have grapes under our plates, one of us is right, and one of us is wrong as far as the reality of the situation is concerned. If I find their doctrine rediculous and they find mine rediculous, if mine is true, I am correct while simeltaneously allowing the other man to be wrong. (in the attempt to appear appear impartial in this precept, the revese could also be said true, as could an instance where we were both sure each other had an orange under their plates)

I am not nice at all.
If I as someone else and I knew me I would avoid me.
I generally dislike people , don't much care for pointless socialising.
I would rather hunt than chat away to a bunch of anybody.
I would rather work at my given job and mission than socialize
    BUT...
    I am saved.
I have embraced the Lord, and if it comes to it He is all the friend I need.
I have taken his words and his teaching into me,
I have bathed and been reborn in hs glorious and terrible light.
This, I feel I will probably go to heaven.
I will not say for certain I will,
as that might stumble into the realms of arrogance and pride.

Being nice is nothing to do with getting to heaven.
We will be judged on our works and our shortcomings,
not how often we flashed the pearly whites.

So all those nice as nice can be socializing and happy atheists and suchlike, well, don't get too smug.

Why would God punish all on the planet, but a handfull of his creations, simply because THEY "KNEW" what "HE WANTED FROM THEM". How can you even ever know YOU are following the right path? Please think of it before trying to use the scare tactic on people.
Have you ever read the Bible?

    Somehow, I doubt it.

God states clearly that He is the only way to Heaven. All others are damned to eternal torture in the fiery pits of Hell.

Why do you spread your anti-Christian lies? Do you wish for more people to join you in the flames?

Re: "But I'm Too NICE To Go To Hell!"

Bless you all for keeping this thread at the top of the list of topics. Because it's vitally important! A lot of people think that just because they're "nice" or have "good intentions" or try not to break God's rules, that they're going to heaven. How wrong they are, and people need to know that only by accepting Jesus as your personal savior, following God's law, and tithing generously to Landover Baptist Church can one go to heaven.

A case in point is my old neighbor. Lovely, charming Mrs. Anderson was a frail, pleasant, white-haired widow, a former elementary school teacher with the kindest heart one could imagine. She baked cookies for the children on their way home from school, and asked them what they learned that day. She volunteered at the community center to teach adults better reading skills, and worked as a volunteer librarian twice a month in the town's bookmobile. Even though she stood only about 5 feet tall and weighed about 80 pounds, she was full of energy and joy-- always smiling and especially good with children. I can still hear her warm and pleasant voice greeting the children saying hello to the mailman.

But in 1976 she voted for Jimmy Carter. And she rarely attended any church, let alone Landover Baptist. So when she died of resperatory inflammation at the age of 91 a few years ago, the mental image of Mrs. Anderson being continuously and forcefully gang-raped from behind by Satan and a tag-team of foul demons in hell has haunted me ever since.

If you recognize that you are making up a god to suit you, where is the point in worshipping it?

Obviously you realize that you are worshipping an idol of yourself. If your "god" is made-up, why waste energy on it?

Yes. You have been lead to this forum by Jesus - it was He Who made you click your mouse to travel to Landover - you did not come by chance. This is your opportunity to get to know God.

For me, believing in my own god, is truthful living a good life without sins.
Whilst for you people, it is by the Bible.
Which I can imagine very well, it does in fact make more sense to believe something other do so as well, and is also explained by other people.
I still prefer doing it my own way, as that seems to work fine.
We TRUE Christians™ are not into make belive friend. That is why we follow The Bible since it was written by God Himself* You start following your imagination and you believe in all kinds of silly stuff like the earth orbiting the sun or fish giving birth to people.
