An acid can be any chemical that has a PH level less than 7; when in water. It can come from any form, including a solid.
DNA is made of sugar and phosphate, which are joined together by bases. You're all mistaking amino acids with normal acid.
Amino acids are just that, molecules which have both amino and acid groups.
But to be serious: I know a sponge is mostly empty space. I know a brick is not. It is common sense. Your "universe a nutshell because sponges and bricks are the same" is not common sense. Try again.
