Re: English as a Second Language???

I honestly think that schools really don't care about the educational welfare of these poor wetback kids. If you marginalize English as a mere second language, and teach to them in Spanish, what hopes will they have for their future? You can't get a good job without speaking English. The most they can hope for is trimming the hedges of a lawyer who went to school and learned in English!

Re: English as a Second Language???

It is obvious that God gave a lot of thought immediately after the Babel incident as to what language His Favourite People would speak and thus in which language His Inerrant and Timeless Word would be expressed.

English, and as it later became, American is, as you’d expect, perfect!

Imagine the torture for a foreigner of “Though I coughed, I saw the saw saw thoroughly through the rough bough like dough.” or better still, the final test of speaking American, “That thin thing.” with its hard and soft “th” instead of the foreign, “Zat sin sing.”

God knew this was a good idea because it allows the Godly to distinguish joos, papist, muslins, dot-heads and other godless and untrustworthy lazy foreigners with their first words and thus avoid their cheating ways.

Homers too mince and mangle the words of American in their lisping way, giving adequate warning and an opportunity to gather stones.

Teach Messicant? Why? If they have anything worthwhile to say, they’ll say it in American.

I teach English as a Second language, or TEFL as they call it. I use the Bible as my main text. The commies learn something new everyday.

I agree! The Catholics love using language as a stumbling block, like making their Bible and muttering all of their incantations in Latin.

And Mexican is one of those Latin American languages.

I long for the day when we are in heaven where everyone speaks English (and ONLY English).

Mother Glendora, having been brought up with English as my third language (forgive me Lord) I can assure you that it is a living Hell!

I don't understand why English isn't just the first language in every country in the world. Even before they learn to make clicking sounds or say "Jahwoll" or "Salutations distinguées" or whatever these furriners learn first.

Making it the second language in Iowa is... is... an ABOMINATION!

I gather we will be organizing a big Landover rally against this ridiculous idea? I'll notify Brother Abner, just to be sure.

Judging from some of the postings by the Unsaved Trash that frequent here, the schools should focus on the students mastering Godly English first, and then move onto lesser tongues after that. I suppose, though, that it might be useful to know how to speak Messican, so when you pass illegals on the street you can eavesdrop on their conversations. You never know what those people are up to!

    English as a Second Language???

I'm sort of shocked, but I guess I'm not surprised. Right here in IOWA, the pubic schools seem to be more interested in teaching Mexican than they are English! I guess it doesn't matter that the Bible is printed in English!

    Your Thoughts???
