Call me soft-hearted, but I think it's really cruel to pick on a man who has already been punished by God on this Earth and will no doubt be further punished in Hell. Has this sinner not suffered enough without being made a Catholic? It's not as if he can fight back.

Stephen Hawking has been diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - aka Lou Gehrig's Disease). The disease is inevitably fatal and most people die of it within 4 years. Stephen Hawking is 74, and has "lived" 13 times that. A miracle? - I think not. Stephen Hawking most likely died years ago, and what we see today is really a propped up Disney Audio-Animatronics version of him financed by George Soros, the Illuminati, and the New World Order. They can make that computer generated voice of his say anything they want just by typing it in on a remote terminal.

Needless to say that Jesus has always known that one day a precious child of his would dedicate her life to Him

Predictably, God ignores the prayers and pleas of Catholics. These papists rallied together to ask their newest "Saint" to fix the cripple Stephen Hawking, as their Saints are understood to have magical mystical powers that can imitate the miracles of Jesus if you all but close your eyes and allow for huge differences and accept coincidences when they serve their cause.

We are not surprised to see the Roman Catholics themselves are willfully blind to the tomfoolery that is their faith, despite the obvious proof in front of them. They give money to their priests to mumble useless verbal charms, pretend reality conforms to their expectations, and ignore the blatant fact that their prayers are as effective as Stephen Hawking's childhood dance lessons.

I called Father Pavilzych of the Redeemer of the Saints Roman Catholic Church and posed the question: "Why is Stephen Hawking not healed, since the petition was brought before St. Teresa of Calcutta?" Here is his response:

"God the Father has a divine will and plan for us all. Our sufferings can be used to help the poor souls in purgatory get to heaven more quickly as the flames of purgatory cleanse them, making them worthy to see God."

I said: "But is it also possible that God doesn't answer because God doesn't hear the prayers of sinners?" He paused and said,

"God hears all, my son."

"I am not your son."

"Have you called to try and get me upset or to confuse me? I have been a priest for 32 years and I know what the catechism and the tradition of Mother Church and the sacred scripture tells us about healing. We mustn't ever forget that by His stripes we are healed. But sometimes, God wants us to give our suffering to Him. Then He rewards us by having grace on the souls in purgatory or by causing young men to lay prostrate as they are touched by the Bishop when they become priests or deacons. Our suffering can be prayer just as an Our Father or a Hail Holy Queen. Do you understand now, my son?"

"I am not your son."

I then heard a "cllick" as the call was disconnected. When I tried to call him back, amazingly there was a recording telling me to press 1 if I spoke English and 0 if I just wanted to leave a message. I just hung up.

The first question that comes to my mind is, If a Catholic's prayer doesn't work here and now, what assurance can one have that their prayer works in Purgatory? The answer is of course, None. There is no assurance. This is taken on faith that what their priests tell them is True and Good, but there is no way to confirm it. So basically, the Catholic pretends it's True and Good regardless of reality.

The second thing that comes to my mind is the absurd notion that suffering helps the souls in Purgatory. The nonexistence of Purgatory notwithstanding, Catholics believe it's true, they pretend it's true, but they don't think it through. How does suffering help? What's the mechanism? How does one measure pain? Is there a unit, like a calorie or gram? Do these units of suffering on earth relieve suffering in Purgatory? Does Stephen Hawking's suffering from an incurable disease (incurable even by the Catholic god's standards) relieve the suffering of people in Purgatory? Or does this suffering exchange work like the bunch of bananas you buy at the supermarket which goes bad before you get the groceries unpacked at home and then get thrown in the garbage disposal or compost because no one is going to eat yet one more god-awful no-rise banana bread, banana muffins, banana smoothie, or banana-in-a-mason-jar-pintrest-surprise and gets thrown out without ever having been used even though there are people starving in Ethiopia who would have enjoyed those bananas if only they could have touched them? So is Hawking's sufferings going to be thrown away because he's an atheist and doesn't "offer them up"? Or does it get used without his permission?

Really, does anyone at the Vatican think this stuff through?

Powerful, Sister E. What I hope people can take away from their encounter with us here at Landover Baptist Church is that Baptists are the original Christians and every other set of schmucks, including Catholics, are imposters. I think even our friend here, Father Whats-his-name, knows deep down that the Catholic Church is not a real Christian church.
