A jealous nun allegedly set light to a priest's house and threatened to kill him with a machete after finding him bed with a another woman. Sister Silvia Gomes De Sousa, 39, went berserk when she caught her 70-year-old lover Father Carmelo Mantarro in the act, a court heard yesterday. She had to be restrained by passers-by.

The nun told the hearing: "I just flipped when I came to the house and found him in bed with another woman who is married. We had been together four years and I had even had two abortions because of him."
