Oh, dear Sister Basilissa, I do think you are onto something there. It is probably a "Cardinal", on his way to a costume party. They do have closets full of such outfits, as you may well know.

A blessed day to you, Dear,
    Sincerely, Isabella W.

And in today's news ... yet another mention of more nonsense from the Cathyolick Church! This time, it's about the Vatican and how it funded money toward a film production about that perverted Elton John person, with regard to a movie based on his life.

"ROME, December 6, 2019 — The biographical musical film based on the life of Sir Elton John, the first movie by a major film studio to include a male homosexual sex scene, was partly financed by the Vatican, Italian media are reporting. According to Corriere della Sera, recent inquiries into Vatican finances have revealed that at last €1 million in the Catholic faithful’s offerings to Peter’s Pence, a Vatican fund used “for the many different needs of the Universal Church and for the relief of those most in need,” was invested in “Rocketman,” with an additional €3 million going to the most recent “Men in Black.”

Certainly, this comes as no surprise to the believers here at . Considering the many scandals involving the Cathyolick priests and their sinful acts of raping so many altar boys over the years, I suppose this donation of money to a sinful ywood film is just another business transaction. At least, the transfer of money does not involve a pay-out to victims of abuse -- for once!

    A blessed day to all,
    Sincerely, Isabella W.

Amen, dear Sister Mary. Amen!! I think that that Pell pervert thinks he can hide his sins behind his fancy robes, but he won't be fooling anybody other than himself when he stands before the in the halls of Judgment!

Matthew 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

A blessed day to you, dear Sister Mary,

I would never let my sons be anywhere near a Catholic priest! I'm fortunate that their youth leader at our church takes such an interest in them - hunting, fishing, swimming (all in the nude - he says it's healthier to be nude outside).

Women and children need to live as far from Catholic churches as possible and have as many obstacles as possible between them and those churches. Here is Freehold families live in a gated community and no Catholics are on the inside. We have had no cases of abuse by priests.

Guam’s ex-archbishop shielded culture of clergy sex abuse

Now, thousands of pages of court documents reviewed by The Associated Press, along with extensive interviews, tell a story of systemic abuse dating from the 1950s to as recently as 2013. They show a pattern of repeated collusion by predator priests, with abuse that spanned generations and reached all the way to the very top of the church hierarchy.

The archbishop used his power to stymie a lawmaker’s efforts to allow victims to sue the church, which could have exposed his past. It wasn’t until Denton and other victims spoke out in 2016 that the Vatican finally suspended Apuron, nearly 40 years after Denton first reported his rape. Apuron still denies the allegations.

Priests accused of abusing deaf Argentine students on trial

Of course the CEO, Pope Francis, knew all about this school's function as a sex-slave enclave for the priests of Argentina, otherwise known as the Mexico of Mexico. Believing the coffers of the Vatican are far more important than the welfare of children, Franny did nothing to stop the sexual circus. Apparently the state has woken up and stepped in. Who would have thought a country full of Catholics would care about the well being of boys who would never become priests themselves?

Victims' Rights Attorney Releases Extensive List of NY Archdiocese Clerics Accused of Sex Abuse
There are so many abusing priests it is hurting their reputations. When homer men needed to improve their image they started Gay Men's Choirs. Maybe abusing priests could start choirs. They would need their own name.

Since they fiddle which children, how about the Fiddlin' Friars Choir?

Victims' Rights Attorney Releases Extensive List of NY Archdiocese Clerics Accused of Sex Abuse

Though the Archdiocese of New York released its own list of 120 priests and deacons that it said had been credibly accused of sexual abuse or the possession of pornography, or whose behavior had led to compensation claims being paid in April, the victims' rights attorney said it compiled a more extensive, yet "incomplete" list of the accused witht he help of individuals across the country.

How horrible, Brother Farmer, but it just goes to show the depravity within that "church" for what it really is. Actually, we could re-name this thread to "Roman Catholic sex scandal of the HOUR"!

When Did the Catholic Church Decide Priests Should Be Celibate?
I'm not convinced of the interpretation of Matthew 19:12, but that aside, there has always been a lot of trouble with occupations that come with a house - as the Catholic priesthood did.
The practice of priestly celibacy began to spread in the Western Church in the early Middle Ages. In the early 11th century Pope Benedict VIII responded to the decline in priestly morality by issuing a rule prohibiting the children of priests from inheriting property. A few decades later Pope Gregory VII issued a decree against clerical marriages.
When the married priest died, this meant turfing out the widow and children, and relying on 1Timothy:5, and it's final admission (v.9) that the Church would have to support them.

Rather than fulfill this small and God Ordained obligation, the Pope squashed the cause - and he did this to increase the size of his coffers at the expense of the poor and ignorant.

By doing so, he released a time of filth on the world but was able to afford a few extra jars of Spikenard and the like.

I contrast this with the Baptist Church that rewards its Pastors that they and their widows and children need want for nothing and to the extent that the widow and off-spring often inherit more than one house.
