You and I need to get a few things straight before I leave you in tatters: I'm not your 'sweetie', nor am I your 'blossom'. I'm not your anything. Your pet-names and 110% unappreciated, and they will stop. Seriously, you're on some pretty thin ice there, jackass. Secondly, I don't PMS; have a look at my posts and you'll eventually come across the fact that I have a cannibalistic uterus, and thus avoid menstrating. Thirdly, whether or not I am in a relationship with someone is absolutely none of your greasy business.

Wasn't someone here who's a pagan saying that she was going to the summerlands where it's all green and nice and the Goddess and God are there and everyone humps the shrubbery? I thought I saw a whole thread about it somewhere (by Ixi?). Someone saying that the Christian heaven was not unlike summerland, or whatever. I had it all explained to me by Moonie pie on one occasion, but admit I forget most of it. For some reason I wasn't concentrating as much on what she was saying as other matters at the time. Can't think what they might have been.
I'm going to have to repeat myself for you, what with your learning disablities and ADD, but try to follow along: Summerland is a Wiccan belief. I am not Wiccan. Therefore, I do not believe in Summerland. Now, while Wicca is a Pagan religion, Paganism is different from Wicca.

True Christians, yes. False Christians evangelize lies and attack True Christians while they pretend to be good people, so they can draw in those who find the Bible inconvenient. Then those innocent people believe the lies and are condemned to hell.
OYK is right about something here.
So many xtians use the bible to justify anything, they interpret that book any way they wish to, to justify their horrible, vicious, spiteful, violent actions.
I once asked some oh so tolerant <insert sarcasm> xtians I knew what kind of merciful god would send ANYone to 'hell'. Their answer? That I was evil and possessed for even asking such a thing.

These people at landover, nutty though they are, at least do not pretend to be something they are not, the same way that so many xtians these days pretend to be something they are not, which is loving, tolerant and forgiving. They are only those things towards other xtians, not truly towards anyone else and if they are, it's only in the hope of converting them and failing that, they constantly 'pray for them' to turn.

I've known enough, more than enough xtians in my lifetime to know the way that they think.

So, Hairy Homer, I understand you've been looking for me. The problem there being that you are a hellbound athian, and the bible clearly says I should not invite unbelievers into my home or socialize with them.

I'm sorry about this, I truly am, but God's word (r) is quite clear on this fact. If, on the other hand, you were to become saved(r), maybe I might reconsider. But in order to ensure that you had only honorable intentions, I would ask that a Pastor be present as bodyguard chaperone.

Please do take the opportunity to turn from your monkey-worshipping blasphemy, dear.

but everyone knows that the spirits that live inside of rocks, trees and water cause everything to happen. There is no such thing as science or common sense. You need to speak to the sky and bang your head on a rock. That is the way of knowledge.

I would like to hear more explainations about why its stupid to worship a god who wants to be killed. Please continue.

How do you do, Star (You don’t mind if I call you Star?)

It is a civilized pleasure to find a calm and thoughtful reply like yours amongst the ill-considered and often ill-tempered (yes Undie -- ill-tempered) posts on this thread.

But I’m not sure that I can agree with what you say about it being common knowledge that the spirits living inside of rocks, trees and water cause everything to happen.

This is certainly just as sensible an idea as that of the xians or pagan/wiccans, but I don’t think it can accurately be said to be a universally accepted idea.

I can’t accept your antepenultimate sentence either. Is it really the way of knowledge to speak to the sky and bang your head on a rock?

I can’t cite any studies dealing specifically with a relationship between these matters; but we can draw inferences from known phenomena. Isn’t talking to the sky what the christers do? And the pagan/wiccan/witches? They talk to the sky because they think that there are spirits up there that will answer their supplications (prayers). So talking to the sky doesn’t always mean an increase in knowledge.

What is well established is that there is a strong correlation between being dropped from some height onto one’s head when a baby, and the development of fundamentalist xian or pagan/wiccan beliefs later in life. Isn’t being dropped on one’s head not unlike hitting one’s head on a rock?

I suspect that it would affect different individuals differently. Take Shol'va for example: Banging his/her head on a rock would probably have little or no effect at all, except maybe to chip the rock. On the other hand, to bang young Undie’s head on a rock may simply make her even more confused and muddled than she is already.

On the whole I must say I think this banging one's head on rocks risky Star. Still I appreciate your input. (I will come back to your final question later.)

Kind of like you have, and like most people -- false Christians, Wiccans, Pagans, whatever -- who come here to our forum to attack our beliefs, wholly unprovoked?
Seriously, they ignore all the evidence of God and the supernatural:

Throughout history, people in every single culture have been convinced there is a god.
    Or gods.
Except the Godless Commies. And we see how that worked out for them.
The complexity and simplicity within eachother found in our universe points to intelligent design... take the human brain, for example.
Exactly! Too bad it's managed to "devolve" over time, and now has cancers, and chemical imbalances, and all those nasty dysfunctions. One would think that God had designed it poorly, if it wasn't painfully obvious that the introduction of sin is what has caused the problems.
Human kind's inherent sense of right and wrong cannot be biologically explained.
Well, except in the way B-J explained it. In fact, the same sorts of community-building behaviors are seen in lower animals, like apes, canines, and Canadians.
Out-of-body experiences, where good people see heaven and the bad see hell.
Sorry. The Bible indicates quite clearly that after death, you are dead until the Resurrection at the end of the world. Yep, dead and rotting and knowing nothing until Jesus returns and resurrects you to either everlasting reward or eternal torture. That's why the Catholic church forbade cremation for centuries; they thought the creator of the universe wouldn't be able to reconstitute the bodies from scattered smoke and ash.

Those visions of heaven and hell are hallucinations fed by the individual's belief system. In different cultures, they also see what they expect to see.
Psychic abilities (telekinesis, prediction of the future, etc.), the ones that can't be explained by frauds.
Have you found any evidence of this yet? I've only seen frauds.
The higher likelyhood of something happening if we pray or visualize it.
Already addressed by B-J. God only answers the prayers of True Christians; no study of True Christian prayers has been completed yet.
That's all I can think of now... but Rachael can condemn Christians all she likes, yet the fact remains that most Christians are good people.
True Christians, yes. False Christians evangelize lies and attack True Christians while they pretend to be good people, so they can draw in those who find the Bible inconvenient. Then those innocent people believe the lies and are condemned to hell.
Atheism, however, leads to evil, because if you are atheist and a bad person, you're not going to be punished after you die.
Actually, they are going to be punished after they die; however, the same need to participate in society applies to atheists as it does to members of any religion. Since you've generalized here, please show us research to back up your claim that atheists are evil. After all, if it can be "scientifically" proven, then maybe we can get some laws on the books to deal with atheists. Remove them from society, that sort of thing.

When you hear the rumbling in the mountains, that's because the Spirit Who Lives in the Rocks is hungry. Then the boulders come down and smash your house and squash your bodies into goo for the spirit to absorb.

The Spirit of the Wind howls and cries when it is angry that you don't make the smoke offering anymore. Then what happens. The wind comes and and smashes your houses and rends your bodies limb from limb so that the Wind Spirit can take your flesh for itself.

But people who don't even know how to spell BOWELS are trying to convince you to worship their puny dead god. You are fast earning the name Shovel of Shtta if you say you are buying into this donkey load of malarky.

Let's light a bonfire and chant and see if we can make you feel better....
