Wrong friend. Our own sense of right and wrong is driven by pure selfishness. It helps us function in the group of people without risking getting attacked if we are "fare" to our fellow man. Only in the God is there selfless love. You friend are mistaking your own urge toward self preservation as virtue.

Throughout history, people in every single culture have been convinced there is a god.
The complexity and simplicity within eachother found in our universe points to intelligent design... take the human brain, for example.
Human kind's inherent sense of right and wrong cannot be biologically explained.

For the second thing, I've had experience with atheists too. And in my experience, it's not enough for them not to believe in a god, they must also act like jerks to anyone who doesn't share their beliefs. Seriously, they ignore all the evidence of God and the supernatural:

That's all I can think of now... but Rachael can condemn Christians all she likes, yet the fact remains that most Christians are good people. Atheism, however, leads to evil, because if you are atheist and a bad person, you're not going to be punished after you die.

Shol'va, the fact is, have you read ALL the new testament? The jesus of the bible did not say all nice things. In fact, he said some very mean things. The nice things don't cancel out the mean things.

I haven't come to regard the bible the way I do purely because of the old testament and yes, it's a little arrogant of you to presume. I've come to my views of that book after reading the WHOLE THING.

I've read quite a bit of the New Testament, but I don't remember Jesus saying many things that I disagree with... perhaps you could show me a few of the parts that you disagree with?

On the contrary, angel britches, we atheists certainly do not need to and certainly do not believe we know everything. Quite the opposite! We accept that what we know about the universe is so miniscule that it is scarcely a drop in the ocean. We believe that the mysteries and complexities of the universe are infinitely greater than the unimaginative notions of religion. It is religious people who want and need to understand everything.
