As a dentist, I do recommend getting regular dental checkups as part of a regime of dental and spiritual hygiene that includes daily brushing, flossing, and self-flagellation. However, those French dentists are real idiots--for Heaven's sake, they were looking up the wrong end of your gastrointestinal tract! I suppose in theory you could check for cavities that way, but you would need an especially deft touch and a REALLY long dental probe. It just wouldn't be worth the hassle.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the French police secretif recruited its torturers among former or wannabe dentists. The colonic probe was indeed that elongated!
