      God is real, and God can do anything to humans if he wishes to, right?

          Would you be disappointed if I had not intention to say anything about it?

          Onto to my question: If God can do all, why doesn't he just take out of all memory besides the teachings of the bible in our brains? And mind you I'm being serious since most of you know the texts of the bible quite well.

            Well then why bother creating man at all? Why not just give heaven to the rocks? God gave us free will, whether he gave it to us for a test or not, I don't know. I don't know the mind of God.

            The last five chapters of Job are actually quite good at explaining why it's futile to understand God's mind. You can find them if you follow the link (they're short).

                But the first man, Adam, did not know any evil. He did not have a free mind until he ate the fruit of knowledge. Am I mistaken somewhere on that? He was just an image of God who obediently followed every command God gave. I don't believe we had any free wills to begin with since we just did whatever God had told us until Eve was deceived by the serpent. She didn't know the serpent told lies, and God never commanded Adam and Eve not to listen to the serpent.

I had no intention to create a debate in your forums. I'm asking QUESTIONS about your religion so that I could try and understand. Is that not allowed in here either?

                        No, it's not sad, it's a stupid argument along the lines of "have you stopped beating your dog?"

                        Adam and Eve (Eve ate the fruit first and gave it to Adam) were told not to eat of that tree.

                        Let me give you a little parable to try and explain it. I'm out walking in the park with my dog and my dog starts sniffing at something. I look over and realize it's a dead rat. Now I know that the city has been poisoning rats, so I tell my dog to leave it. I told the dog to leave it, for his own good, but he doesn't know that. All he knows is that there is something dead and stinky there that would be fun to roll in and chew on and eventually gobble down whereas, I know that eating the poisoned rat could kill him. The dog really does have a choice here, he could ignore me and eat the rat and probably die from it (without ever understanding what happened to him) or he can obey my command and leave it alone and we can finish our walk.

                        Do you see the equivalent between this story and God and man? As a dog cannot understand it's masters mind, we cannot understand God's mind. We know that God left us a book that explains the rules, and it's up to us to obey those rules. What happened in the Garden of Eden is way beyond our control. The only difference is unlike the dog, we know the consequences of disobeying God.

But let's say you did tell your dog that he would die if he ate it, and you are too busy doing other things and cannot be with your dog now. Then a little critter comes crawling around and spews lies about the rat to your dog. The critter twisted your words and said, "You will not surely die. For your owner knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like your owner, knowing good and evil" (changed owners with God. I hope that is not blasphemy towards your God. I'm only trying to give an example). Now your dog has no knowledge about the critter, and you never told him not to listen to other living beings. So the dog assumes that the rat was actually good for him and ate it. How would you explain that?

                            Well first of all God is everywhere, and I am not. Second I have almost lost a dog to a poisoned rat, other than leaving nasty letters in my neighbors yards asking them to use traps rather than bait, there's not much I could do about it.

                            I would assume that the "critter" hated my dogs and wanted them to die. I would hope that my dog would trust me enough to realize that I knew what was best for him. Unfortunately it seems that Eve did not.

                              I think your dog did, but he did not completely understand your 'meaning' of "You will surely die" concept. I think Eve also knew, but she did not completely understand God's meaning of his warning.
