              Exactly! Well I'm sure the Tower of Babel happened loooooooong before 1492, right? When Europeans moved to the US and formed our own American-English language...that had to be evolution, right? If not, how come we don't speak like our English brothers? It's because our language EVOLVED into another form of English. We had time and separation AWAY from our English brothers in the UK.

              Why do we have New England accents, or NY accents, or Cajun accents? It's because those colonies were formed before modern inventions, like the telephone, automobles...etc. Ever noticed that the accents seem to have stopped past Texas? I never heard of a Salt Lake City or Seattle accent. Probably because those colonies were not as heavily populated until AFTER some of the modern inventions. They didn't have the TIME to form their own dialect....before frequent travel and modern inventions came along. We have to travel into different states, (older regions) to hear someone of a different accent. In England they only have to go 50-60 miles down the road. That's probably because they had older cities/communities that were heavily populated in the horse and buggy days. They had more time to form dialects.

              Everybody wants to learn more English because it's a trade language. Computers is just the icing on top that is bringing us all closer together. Mail, telephones, TV and modern music were all factors of bringing this world closer together....and now we have computers. Unity eventually will create one language. Separation, distance, seclusion from the outside and time gets people to form their own native languages. It has hardly anything to do with religion....sorry folks.
