It's a weak point and irrelevant to this discussion. Are you trying to "win" by derailing this thread?

Again: if, by definition, being atheist means rejecting all deities, then it's logically impossible to be atheist and theist at the same time.

If we substitute the definition, then you're basically saying this:

"I am someone who rejects all deities"
"You are someone who rejects all deities, but not all of them"

So essentially, you apply the word in a way that directly contradicts its definition. And thus the logic is flawed.

    QED

As an aside, logic doesn't seem to be your strength. You complain about ad hominem arguments here:

And then you use it yourself here:
Aside from the odd person at the child's side; the child is completely right. Everything is relative and he makes up his own morality. However, if he wants to live in a world where he won't get robbed, hated and killed: he'd better advocate the appropriate lifestyle. As for current events, if he doesn't mind jail and potential death: he'd better stick to a "more" moral way.

I think you need to read up on some definitions. I know, I know - we all have our own little definitions for some things but I'd ask you to educate yourself just this one time. If a Theist is someone who believes in one OR several deities, an Atheist is someone who lacks the belief in one OR several deities.

But let's just for the sake of argument assume your definitions hold collective/social truth to them. The small detail you might have missed it that I specifically appointed the scenario of lacking the belief in deities one by one. I'm sorry if I didn't make this clear, as hard as I tried.

About my question concerning "BelieverInGod"; it cannot be an argument from ad hominem since I don't see myself as an adult yet and I'm not insulting myself in the process - I assure you. That's not even taking into account that I'm not questioning the validity of BelieverInGod's arguments solely based on his/her age. :3

According to you the more mass an object has, the more gravity it has. Well the paper needed to be blown on quite hard to leave the balloon, lightly to leave the toy ball, and didn't need to be blown on at all to fall off of the jolly ball. That is going in the complete opposite direction of how you said it would happen.
I don't know under what conditions you made the "experiment", I'll however tell you that I suspect statical electricity is that which prevented the paper from falling down as quickly as it perhaps should. I however described how gravity alone will act, so you've basically twisted the scenario in your favor.

What you can try instead is using the paper on two balls of the same material but make sure they're different in mass ( Fg = m*g so m = Fg/g). :3

Mrs... something. Do you actually consider that to be a serious experiment? The earth weighs 13,169,533,693,875,800,921,604,096 pounds. You are comparing the gravitational pull to this object with the gravitational pull of a 2 pound ball. Or a balloon which can barely be measured in pounds. Do you realise how rediculous that is? Wether it's a piece of paper, a stone or a the Liberty Bell itself, the gravitational pull of the earth is far greater than any ball or balloon you find lying around in your garden.

Standing on the back of a pickup truck? Did you consider that you might've fallen off because of wind resistance or a bump in the road? Or that the ledge you were standing on might be a bit hard to hit on the way down? Guess not, but please, try standing on the inside of a big truck, a normal car, a train or an airplane moving at a constant speed. Then you jump. Straight up. Just curious though, do you think that if you jump inside an airplane, the airplane will start moving away from you and you will smash into the back wall of it, perhaps even going through it since the airplane is moving fast enough to give you a high enough force that could probably shatter the interior of the airplane?

How many normal cars do you know that you can stand in? Do you think just anyone has access to a rig or train? As for jumping up and down in an airplane, well I'm not going to waste the money on a ticket just to please you and I really don't want an air marshals boot in my back with a gun pointed at my head. But yes, I do think if I jump up in an airplane, I will fall over. When I jump on the earth, I do not fall over.

We have all sorts of experiments that anyone can do at home, and you just tell us your wrong and give us ridiculous tests that the average person can't do.

I'm not talking about falling over. I'm talking about the plain moving away from you at several hundred feet per second. You see, he claims that if you jump on the earth, you land in the same spot, which is actually not true since the earth is moving. What I mean by this is, you may land on the same spot relative to the earth's surface, but you do not land in the same spot relative to the universe because the earth is moving through the universe. By his theory, if I was to jump on an airplane which is moving, I will not land on the same spot inside the airplane, the airplane will actually move away from me at a speed of several hundred feet per second. Which means I would land somewhere outside the airplane.

As for rediculous experiments that you can't do at home, I didn't think riding in for instance a bus or a train was that uncommon, but fair enough. How about this then: You sit inside a car which is moving at a constant speed. You have a ball, a rock, your wallet, any object you like, and you throw it up into the air. Following the claim on the start of this thread, if the car was not moving the object will land in your hand if you throw it straight up. If the car IS moving though, the object will not land in your hand if you throw it straight up. I invite you strongly to try this out.

As for the earth being flat, I have not gotten any response to the part of my post regarding this. I would very much like to see your counterarguements on my theories there.

Have someone you know drive a car you're in, and while the driver's maintaining a constant velocity (no acceleration) you can throw a little ball or flip a coin as straight up as you can.

I'm personally a bit disappointed seeing an adult such as yourself but I'm sure you'd behave differently in a different environment and with some basic education. I mean; I've known that people like you exist all around the world, I had just hoped that I'd not encounter any of you so soon in my life. The weight of the earth has been calculated from an extreme amount of measurements and observations.

Is the exact weight really important though? How much do you thinkt he earth weighs? How do you think your ball and balloon compares to that? Or are you just trying to derail the topic and not actually answering any of my questions at all?

You shouldn't annoy drivers like that, it can cause an accident.

2)Is this a joke? are you seriously trying to compare paper+ a balloon to the earth and a person?

lets do a nice lil ratio of mass:mass
                      Paper: Balloon
                      .1g:7.3g
                      or 1:73
                      person:earth
                      approx 70kg (154lb) :5.9742x10^24
                      or 1:8.53x10^22

well that seems a lil off which also explains why only one has a strong gravitational field while the other (which still has an attractive force on the paper) is just not strong enough to hold it

                      3) why are you trying to say to look high in the sky to see the world is flat, you can't see the whole world from that vantage point and since your vision covers such a miniscule distance then you obviously can't see the curvature of the earth. Look at any satellite photograph and you will see the earth is clearly not flat
How do you know it was a satellite photo? You can make picture of anything with a computer.

However, the Bible (KJV) was written before any Photoshop software and it clearly says the earth is flat. Why is that not good enough for you?

So you have just admitted that you have not determined that for yourself. Of course I have not weighed it as I see no need to. It will not make one iota of difference to me how much it weighs.
YOU seem to think it it may be of some importance because you are the one who posted that very long number claiming it to be some "truth".

I, at no time have even tried to derail the thread (and actually made several posts before uppity little you came along and ruined it all) as I would not want to take away at all from Rev.Jim's brilliant work in the area of science.

Unsaved scum? I'm not surprised to be honest. This is the kind of response you people usually give when you can't find a counterarguement. And why are you so afraid of people actually debating this? If you are so convinced that the theories of the "Rev." are completely true, then please, convince the rest of us as well. I don't see how anyone could call this science, but I will respect that that is how you view it. Science is trying to make paper stick to a balloon. Sending a satellite into space is mumbo jumbo.

I would very much like you to answer my question though, how do you think your little balloon and ball compares to the weight of the earth itself? Do you think it would be logical if those objects would actually defeat the gravity of the earth?

And since you are being so rude to me, allow me to counter back: I think it is absolutely horrifying that you are teaching your children to believe the earth is flat.
