Ever since I read the thread "proving" the Earth is flat due to the fact that you do not land several hundred feet away when jumping straight up, due to Earth's rotation, and not being rediculed or corrected, made me realize / suspect that this forum is a nest for people who are here just to fool around.

Either that or there's a disturbing lack of intelligence and knowledge of physics.

I'm referring to the impact itself, not the actual cause of the crash. Momentum is what causes the car to take damage and people to be injured, but I guess cell phones and driving too fast could cause the car too veer off the road. Those are two different things.

I have a response to your claims and experiments. I trust that you and your fellow True Christians will read them with an open mind, just as you would like scientists to do with your beliefs. I am not proving anything with science. I will use a simple experiment that anyone can perform, just reasoning, and pictures. Even a non-scientist can see this, just as what you preach can be accessed by anyone.

#1: Let’s take a look at a simple example. Let’s say we have two blocks. Put one block on top of the other. Now move the bottom block. You should see that the block on top moves as well. The two blocks move together, yet they are obviously different objects, right? Surely even a God-loving Christian wouldn’t disagree. Since they move at the same speed, their “relative speed” is zero – aka, they don’t move away from each other.

Before you jump, your speed relative to the earth is 0, right? The floor isn’t moving below you. It’s the same as the two blocks. This means that, if the Earth is moving 700-1000 mph, you are also moving 700-1000 mph; just like the blocks (Though on a much smaller scale, what we scientists like to call ‘models’). So when you jump "straight up," you're actually jumping up at like 2mph (Rough estimate, the exact value isn’t necessary for the sake of the argument) and over at 700-1000 mph. So you do in fact land "hundreds of feet away.” But since, in that time, the Earth ALSO moves “hundreds of feet away,” you land at the same exact spot.

#2: You used gravity to disprove gravity. If gravity doesn’t exist, why would someone fall off? I think that’s all I need to say about that.

#3: I don’t follow your logic here. The only way that objects could obstruct your entire view is if you lived in a 2-dimensional world with a large building on either side of you at all times, or you live inside a donut. Let’s look at a picture. Now I know the Bible (most versions) doesn’t contain pictures, but not even a Christian would claim that pictures, which have entertained our children and loved ones for thousands of years, were created by the devil. Assuming that the Earth is round (just go with me on this), the spot where ‘P’ is on the first picture represents someone really high up above the Earth, which is the circle. The two lines that go from P to the circle are his lines of sight. The part of the circle between the two points (A and , where each line touches the circle, is what the man can see. I hope that’s clear. Now take a look at the second picture. This man isn’t very far away from the circle (or high above the Earth). With the same logic as before, we can see that his field of view isn’t very large, compared to the previous. He can only see maybe 1/6 of the Earth, whereas the other could see almost 1/2! What does this mean? It means that the higher above the round Earth you are, the more you can see.

If you lift the top block off as you are moving the blocks, it will stay in the same place. Still get the same result.

I really do not understand what you are trying prove here. But just trying looking at things at a distance, they become smaller and harder to see.
