Well you people have just played a huge part in convincing me that there is not now and could never have been a single, all knowing God.
If God had been all knowing, he would have had the foresight to know that distributing the bible would lead to your existence, causing far more harm than good.
In fact, any being powerful enough to create the earth and the stars would surely know what idiocy would come of the distribution of the bible.

Now I'm sure most of you have already stopped reading but if you've gotten this far, congratulations! You're slightly less arrogant than the rest of these fools.

Ok, I'm going to go right back to the first page of this forum and explain in no uncertain terms how fundamentally flawed your "experiments" are.
The main thing you seem unable to grasp is the sheer scale of the earth. The earth has an average radius of 6371 km. I say average because it is not, in fact a perfect sphere but is wider along the equator, as was predicted and as was observed from space.
Because the earth is so huge, it only curves by around 12cm for every kilometer. This makes the curvature almost imperceptible over small distances (under 1,000km).
A nice, observable proof is that the top of a large object (like the mast of a boat) will appear first as it appears on the horizon. This would not be the case with a flat earth.
Also, there is the blindingly obvious fact that a 2 dimensional shape has obvious limits (ie. you could fall off the edge). Since circumnavigation is possible and nobody has ever fallen off the earth attempting it, the earth must be spherical (well, approximately. To be precise, it is an oblate spheroid).

Now that you understand how big the earth is (and hopefully, what shape it is), I will begin debunking your little "proofs".

1) Although the earth is spinning extremely fast, it is also extremely large.
Because of this, the speed we perceive on the surface of the earth is completely negligible.
To help you understand this, you could consider two wheels (or balls, if you want) of different sizes spinning at different speeds. Surely it would take the larger wheel longer to complete a full rotation. Therefore, an observer on the edge of the larger wheel would perceive a slower rotation. This is why we don't notice the earth's spin.
This is also why your truck analogy is totally inadequate. In your version, you are very close to the speed of the object but in reality, the earth's speed is greatest at its centre so we experience only the smallest possible part of it.

2) This one is far too obvious! You state multiple times that the balloon has a far greater mass than the paper but this just shows a poor understanding of mass (or, just scale again). The mass of the earth is around 5,974,200,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg, my mass is about 80kg. This is a substantially larger difference than in your balloon/paper "experiment".
Although, technically you are onto something here. There is a gravitational force between the balloon and the paper, it is just far smaller than the force between either object and the earth (so they both fall).
To understand this, it would be easiest to include newton's equation of universal gravitation (Einstein devised a more complete theory but it is simply too complicated for use here).
Now, according to Newton F = (G*(m1*m2))/d^2
where F is the gravitational force, G is a constant, m1 and m2 are the masses of the objects and d^2 is the distance between their centers. Because of this relationship, the earth (with its huge mass) exerts a much larger force on us than the balloon and paper do on each other. The d squared term also explains why we aren't pulled into the sun. Because the sun is so far away, it exerts a relatively small force on the earth (but there is still a force due to its large mass). I should explain that if the earth didn't orbit the sun and stopped for some reason, this force would suck us toward the sun. It is because of our relative motion that we can avoid such a fate.

3) Great, I already covered this in part 1!

Just for the record, the bible was meant to illustrate a point. The most important idea was to love your neighbour (something you people have clearly chosen to ignore!). It was never meant to be the collection of all human knowledge, the very idea that such a thing could be contained in a single book is preposterous!

So everybody thank Science for giving you this site because we all know you didn't pray the internet into existence.

I'd just like to finish with this:
It is not my duty to educate you, you should all pursue a broad education and open your minds to ideas that don't even conflict with your views (who's to say that God didn't spark the big bang?).
Surely, the worst sin of all is the waste of life. I know none of you will realise what you're doing but you are holding back the human race as a whole. If you would simply contribute to the field of rational thought then perhaps we could all live together in peace and something like heaven might ensue.
Please stop this nonsense, your views needn't conflict with mine. We should all just learn to love one another.

This theory doesn't hold water. By providing specific examples you mislead your readers.

Take this for an example. You are inside a moving train, say moving at 100mph. You jump inside that moving train. Where do you land? In exactly the same spot. Because the train is moving at 100mph, and so are all the objects inside the train, including you - that's common sense.

You are on the earth, moving at the same speed it is moving. You jump and move with it because when you jumped you were moving at the same speed.:

How does one explain the lack of an edge to the earth if it is indeed flat? And why would there be such long periods of only night or only day in the arctic circle? Or simply the concept of night and day in the first place, if the earth were not spinning and allowing light from the sun to be hitting different parts of the earth?

That doesn't make sense. The first post in this thread concedes that the higher up the farther you see.

The altitude that you jump from is much lower than the altitude planes cruise at.

At the height the plane cruises at you can see the curvature of the earth.

If the earth was spinning of course you would land at different spot. How much more simpler can I say it.

Spinning is forward circular movement. If you roll a ball forward in one direction it is spinning. It is like moving your hand around in the air in a circle.

The train is moving around. When you jump in the train you don't move. When you jump on Earth you don't move. Both are moving.
