God took the time out of His busy schedule to write the Bible. If you're going to insist on proofs of everything based on experience and reason, why did He bother? It's like you're at a brilliant author's reading of his magnum opus, and instead of listening you're loudly debating the direction of your own, new book that you're scribbling in crayon on the back of crumpled cocktail napkins.

He died for you, and all He asks is that you LISTEN. Is that really so unreasonable?

Good is omnipotent. He cant have a 'busy schedule' and he cant die. you dont believe in secular science because some atheist conceived it and you havn't witnessed it. how can you be so sure that the same cannot be said for the bible. you never saw who wrote it

your right its not easy because its impossible. you either take Gods teachings and disobey authority and therfore god or you obey authoritys, some of which conflicts with Gods teachings. you cant do both. obeying the authorities is the smart option however, well done

Im not retarded I have a Masters degree. I speak English yes. Not drunk....yet. And whatever you say will never be 'plain' until you accept what you believe is flawed. I am not saying God does or does not exist. There is no reason why God cannot have invented a sphereical globe with gravity. Science only goes so far and then there is God.....science does however go a hell of a lot further than you would like to believe.

i find it quite funny when anyone tries to give full blown evidence with reference to either science, or god.

lets face it, science cant absolutely prove anything; in fact, it cant prove anything. its constantly changing because we are constantly making new discoveries; our understanding of the world is ever improving. now, while science cant prove anything, it gives damn good theories to suggest the validity of the hypothesis.

at the end of the day, whether u trust science or trust a god, were all wrong. HOWEVER (and this is going back to the original post of this thread), it is ridiculous for someone to make such completely ignorant remarks. i mean, the fact that someone cant even comprehend even the mere IDEA that the world is round completely astounds me. this is how science works: we see something, we dont know how and why it works, and so we try to figure it out. its in our nature; HUMAN CURIOSITY. everything we have today, phones, houses, computers etc are all products of that very curiosity. to use 1 single answer such as "its as a result of god" for all questions is so ignorant. we didnt advance as a human race by simply accepting what we are told to accept. by ur logic, u shouldnt even be using any of todays technology, simply because it was all invented as a collective by a whoooole bunch of people who did not simply accept the god theory. instead, they investigated, the found out, and they developed ways to manipulate naturally occurring phenomenons.

heres something that completely annoys me. u guys reject science, saying its evil or whatever. however, ur quite the hypocrites. the moments science works, even remotely, in ur favour, ur quick to jump on it and say "hey look, look, see, theres the proof"

so come on, lets find some common ground here, either u accept it or u dont. just like u said u dont like all of the bible, but u follow it anyways. well, science works the same way, u cant just pick and choose what works for u

God made everything. He made it how He wanted it to be, not how YOU want it to be. It is His universe. He only lets us stay on His Earth a brief while. If you want to find out why He did things teh way He did, perhaps you should ask Him.
