I'm not saying that you should assume EVERYTHING is a metaphor, because your right in the sense of thou shalt not steal, BUT not EVERYTHING should be taken word for word. when the bible says:
"If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched." (Mark 9:43)

there is no proof that the world is flat. the Bible is not a credible source because it has no other sources backing it up, science has proven the world to be spherical.
