I know for SURE the Earth is flat as I have gone out on a long walk and apart from a few hills it all appears flat to me! But some friend of mine who I have now disowned asked me what happens to the Sun when it goes from East to West over our flat Earth, does it go under it to get back to East as after all it is not day time all the time...

Mr. Cramwell, my congregation does not agree with Landover on the shape of the earth, but it really isn't a salvation issue.

Why would you strike someone for being mistaken about the shape of the earth? You don't see me fighting with my Brothers and Sisters in Christ because they insist the Earth is a flat, circular disc with four corners, do you?

They just look at me like I have three heads and say, "Where do you think the phrase 'square the circle' came from?"

And I sigh.

And then we move on and praise Jesus for loving us all so much that He was willing to temporarily die for more than two days (which makes it three) so that we could stop conducting animal sacrifices as atonement for our sins! Because that would get rather messy, don't you think?

So get with the program! I have yet to see you praise Jesus once! Where's your joy in the Lord? Where's your desire to see all of His Law enacted, worldwide, so we can all finally live in peace and harmony (after all the non-Christians are sent to Africa and South America to work in diamond mines and on plantations)?

It may not be a salvation issue but a lot of painstaking research has gone in to prove this once and for all. Three Scientific facts are now without argue the cornerstone of Creation science... Jump, blow and get high. I will however not clobber anymore people that refute this stance, no matter how enticing the Lynch noose is or how Godly the fire pit is burning.

Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

I'm confused, I didn't want to jump on the back of a truck as I thought it would be dangerous. I tried it inside a train because it seemed safer, I landed on the same spot although the train was moving fast, what went wrong with my experiment?

Probably the fact that you can't control the speed of the train. It may have slowed down when you tried it.

It was a high speed train, it was going over 300 kph when I tried it, if it slowed down it would have still been going faster than your average catholic priest going to 'check' on his altar boys.

Everyone on the train was looking at me funny, I told them I was doing the Lord's work and they still looked at me strange, unbelievers are so weird.

You must understand that you were in a sealed carriage. At the moment you took off the air around you became a 300 kph wind that pushed you along with the train.

On a theoretical spinning spherical Earth you would not get this effect as the air would not be sealed in *.

I'd like to share my own knowledge on the subject:

The other day I was jumping on my trampoline. I got really high in the air but when I landed I was in next door neighbours garden. Due to the rotation of the Earth, I had inadvertely tresspassed onto their property.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
