I"m sorry to say, but the earth is not flat. BELIEVE ME!. There are few places on earth where you are in constant day light. I live in one of them, (North Pole, Alaska) I asked my revrend's wife if she thought that the earth was flat after reading this particular thread. She said, "Of course not, other wise, where would the sun and the moon go? God made the earth a sphere to help the world be a better place. If there was constant daylight we would all go mad, and if there was constant night, the same would happen, God made it so that the earth can rotate freely and give us night and day."

Later I was thinking. I jumped (like the "experements" want you to do) and I landed in the same exact place.

Then I thought, the reason why we jump and arn't smashed into the nearest wall coming from the west is because of GRAVITY! So I went to ask my reverand's wife about her views on Gravity. She brought the Good reverend into the conversation. He said, "God created Gravity so humans can stay were they are, so humans can walk and not invoulentarly fly away. God thought that if there wasn't anything to hold us down, there would be no more humans. He also created gravity for the water to stay, so we can grow our crops, feed our animals and do the same thing the next day, it is the cycle of life that God wanted us to have."

So I started to wonder, If I live in Alaska, when I get on an airplaine, I should be able to see for miles and miles.

When I got on my flight from Fairbanks to Anchorage for my MEPS I tested this theroy. I looked out the closest window and saw that, YES THE EARTH CURVES! THE EARTH IS A SPHERE! Can you imagine?

But then I my theroy to this theroy, and thought, why would such STUPID people still believe that the earth is flat?!?!?!?!?! its just like saying that all "Good Christians" on this site are smart.

What has this place come to?

If you saw that the earth was curved, you seriously need to get your eyes checked.

You reverend's wife is not a woman of science is she? How can she know? Don't argue with the scientists on this forum, they have read the Bible in and out.

God makes it in such a way that people in Alaska have to bear the sun for a long time, mainly because he doesn't like Sarah Palin.

No, I would not just punch someone who called me a liar. Why not? Because I'm Christian. I would patiently explain why that person had his facts wrong (or I suppose if I were ever wrong I would apologize for that and learn).

I actually find it harder to belive that a 80+ old man with no legs could climb mount everest is true but hey! it is!

I have readen these pseudo-arguments and really, but really burried my face in despair... But i guess it's useless to consider the facts that Magellan and his expedition as many other sailors, even nowadays ones travelled all aroud the world... the fact satellites turn around a blue planet, that we launched space stations graviting all around our planet, oh and of course the simple fact worldwide night and day are clearly impossible on a flat world and many other facts...


but i'm sure you wise men have something to say against it...

Just this morning I traveled to downtown Freehold in search of fresh doughnuts. As I traveled the streets I realised that I had traveled around the city and ended up where I started from, yet Freehold is relatively flat.

Have you ever been to space? Of course not, all the photos that you have seen have been photo shopped. As far as day light and night time, as the sun travels around the earth the angle of the sun changes. The Sun rises in the east and sets in the west. As it rises it does so from under the earth and as it sets it ducks under the earth. You can do the same thing with a sheet of paper, hold it up in the palm of one hand and pass the other over the top starting at the right side and moving to the left. When you reach the right side pass your hand underneath the paper and move your hand to the right. Day and Night!
