Coming back to the monstrous size of the Earth; it's spherical, but because it's so huge, the slope of the circle is so gradual that humans can't see it. Even owls, with their unbelievable eyesight, far superior to a human's, can't see the curve.

I'm trying to understand why people act like science is the opposite of God. We can have both, you know. Take not only this ^ argument, but the whole thing about evolution as well. Maybe God created life in the beginning, and then gave it the power to advance on its own? You don't have to scream down every scientific conclusion to defend your Faith.

Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

I'm sorry but are you mentally challenged? That would mean it would be impossible to stand on a plane cause the force would throw you to the back of the plane wether you jumped or not. Its like if you stand up on a bus while its moving, you are going the same speed as the bus and since there is no wind resistance affecting you, you are not thrown to the back of the bus, but if you held a piece of paper out of the window, then it would go flying back because of the wind that is affecting it.

That's ridiculous if you dropped something in a plane or any other moving object it would fall straight to the ground.

you can try this theory at home in your car (if you believe they exist). The reason for this is inertia When the car is moving at a constant speed, a ball in the car is moving at the same speed. When the ball is let go, it wants to keep moving in the same direction that it was moving, which is in the same direction as the car. Gravity causes the ball to fall down, but the ball also keeps moving in the same direction as the car. In the car, the ball appears to fall straight down and not to the back of the car. But, the ball's path will curve with respect to the ground.

simple enough? You can also prove this with a ball and two people. One person should hold the ball and run, then drop the ball at some point while still running. Just let go of the ball; do not throw it. The second person should watch where the first person lets go of the ball. and then watch where it lands. If the second person observes carefully, he/she will see that the ball does not fall straight down. Instead the ball falls downward and in the direction the person was running. The path of the ball follows a geometric curve called a parabola.

Are you still following me? Good so when the earth spins at this constant speed you are in fact moving along with it at the same speed, all the time gravity is keeping you firmly on the ground. How is that so hard to understand?
