We know the Earth is flat because the Bible tells us so. But for those of you skeptical, close-minded types that flat out refuse to accept the overwhelming Biblical evidence, I have designed some experiments you can do at home that will show you, before your very eyes, that the world is indeed flat, and not spherical as some crazy scientists proclaim. It's amazing how many people blindly believe in a spherical Earth, without ever having seen it for themselves! I intend to change that.


1) Jump!
Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

That which is in motion wants to stay in motion, that which is at rest wants to stay at rest. When you are on the spinning earth, your body keeps spinning with the earth, even as you jump. Howeverm if you are on a truck and jump, the air will still rotate with the earth (why you don't slow down if you jump normally) and thus slow you down if you jump on a truck.

2) Blow!
Since if the Earth is supposedly a sphere, it naturally comes to assume what would happen to people below the equator, like in Australia? Since they are underneath the sphere, wouldn't they fall off? This is where scientists come up with mumbo-jumbo like "gravity" and "centrifugal force" to explain away their theories. So, the scientists want you to think that because the earth is so much more massive than people or things, that people will naturally "stick" to the bottom of the earth because of gravity.

Well yes, even if the earth was flat, people would still stay on the earth, instead of floating around, because of gravity. You need to stop thinking of south being downward, and north upwards. The centre of the earth is what everyone calls down, because it means the people in Australia can call their gravity down, and people in Canada can still call their gravity down, and it still fits.

This can be disproved very simply. Get a balloon and inflate it as big as possible. It will be a spherical shape. Now, take a piece of paper and try to rip, tear, or cut the tiniest speck of paper possible. This paper represents a human being, much smaller in mass to the balloon, which represents the Earth. Now try and place the small piece of paper to the underside of the balloon. What happens? It falls off!

If you were in space, this trick would work beautifully. The problem is that the paper is still being attracted to the earth, more than the balloon, because the earth is bigger. To do this experiment accurately, you would need to do it in a place with no other gravity, which doesn't exist because even your body has gravity (though just a tiny amount).

That's right. Even though the balloon is so much bigger in mass, it cannot hold the tiny paper. So if the Earth was a sphere, no one could live below the equator because they would fall off

3) Get High!
Ok, this one you really can't do at home, but you can do it out in the world. Stand on the ground and look around you. What's the farthest you can see? Maybe it's a building, tree, or mountain. Now, find some place very close to it where you can get a much higher vantage point. (This also works if you're on a jet and about to take off.) Notice how in the higher place you can see much farther? You can see more of the world the higher you get. This shows the world is flat because the higher you go, the easier it is to see over obstacles. At the same time, it shows the world cannot be spherical. Because if the world was curved, the far distance would forever remain out of view because of the Earth's curvature. It would eternally be over the horizon.

No, you would see the top half of the earth, that's it. No one had ever seen the full earth from one place, though, because even if the earth was flat, no human eye would be able to see that far, let alone a camera, so don't bother showing me photoshopped 'pics'

I wrote a better response to this, but accidentally deleted it. As I said before, I'm lazy, so I not re-write it unless one of you asks for it, which it doubt anyways.

If the Earth was a sphere, it would not matter how high you went, you would still see the same thing. Since this is not the case, the Earth is flat.

No, you would see it from a different angle.

What has happened to people these days. Here's an idea, measure the diameter and circumference, and see what you get. If it is not EXACTLY 3, then maybe you should learn to think for yourselves instead of just following some million year old book.

If I wrote a science-fiction novel Now, and left it for a few centuries, and people uncovered the new book, BAM!! A new religion with the potential to be as popular as Christianity is today would be born.

What has happened to people these days. Here's an idea, measure the diameter and circumference, and see what you get. If it is not EXACTLY 3, then maybe you should learn to think for yourselves instead of just following some million year old book.

If I wrote a science-fiction novel Now, and left it for a few centuries, and people uncovered the new book, BAM!! A new religion with the potential to be as popular as Christianity is today would be born.

A circle is infinite, it has a neverending circumference, and the only ones who are actually able to measure it, are God and Jesus themselves, and as they are the only ones capable, it makes sense that they would be the ones ones able to tell us what pi is.

If you wrote a science fiction book that was uncovered years from now they would know it was science fiction because it would have the fiction disclaimer at the very start and it would have a picture of a spcaeman on the front cover.

Not all sci-fi books have a disclaimer. More recent ones do, but I have a sci-fi book at home dating from the early-mid 1900's, and it has no disclaimer, although it's talking about how in 2010 there will be flying cars and everyone will be immortal. That sounds like sci-fi to me.

No, who says all sci-fi has to be about spacemen. In this case it is a sci-fi about an omnipotent god, and yes, on some covers it had a picture of said omnipotent god on the front.

Well yes, even if the earth was flat, people would still stay on the earth, instead of floating around, because of gravity. You need to stop thinking of south being downward, and north upwards. The centre of the earth is what everyone calls down, because it means the people in Australia can call their gravity down, and people in Canada can still call their gravity down, and it still fits.

2. Australians and Canadians have the same "down" because there is only one world. Jerusalem is the centre (or central point if you prefer, the focus of Shekinah) today although Sinai and Horeb have been centres in the past and neither I nor my Canadian friends float towards Jerusalem. As it happens I have also spent time in Johannesburg and Entebbe. No floatings there either: down is still down.

So you're saying that we spin at hundreds of kilometres an hour, and still manage to survive? That's not possible, if we were spinning that quickly, at the least we would get extremely dizzy, at the worst we would die. If you spins round in a circle very quickly, you get dizzy after a while, but I'm not dizzy 24/7, so I must not be spinning very quickly all the time.

So basically what's down magically changes, and what I think of as looking up, someone in canada is looking down? What... If I do a handstand, it's pretty obvious that I'm upside-down, but I'm fairly sure I'm not upside-down right now (I live in Australia)

If you put a level on the ground, unless you are on a hill or something like that, you will see that the Earth is level...flat. If it is round or pear shaped, why is the bubble still in the middle of the level, Mr. Full of Nonsense?
