  • Geology, Death & Science

    I've been looking at the map at the bottom of the page. There is a big dead looking patch in the middle - North Africa, Arabia, Persia, Mesopotamia etc., etc., etc., etc. Is this region really dead? Has it been smitten with any great historical or ongoing abominations?

    We hear of the political crisis on the news, but is there any sound geological basis?

    And a bit of a follow up question: if it has been blasted, is there any prospect for recovery?

    Unfortunately, no.

    What you are actually seeing is the complete lack of internet usage in those barbaric parts of the world. Places like the heart of Africa, Iran, Afghanistan, etc. don't have computers, let alone electricity. When I went to Uganda (huh? yea, I had to look it up on a map too) for a televangelist crusade last year, I was surprised to meet people who never even seen or used a telephone or television. A couple of them even thought the cameras we were using would steal their souls. LOL, those pygmies never fail to amuse me.

      That is very interesting, Rev. Osborne. Were there a lot of bats, in Uganda? They are fascinating birds, but I've heard they're are unclean, and unsuitable as a pet.
      I was going to include a little smiley, but I'm feeling a bit wobbly - probably best wait a day or so..
      Thank-you.

        The Bible teaches us to detest the bat, as it is one of the most disgusting birds. It's an abomination that is certainly not suitable to keep as a pet. Have you tried keeping a dog instead?

        Leviticus 11:13-20
        13And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls[birds]; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
        14And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
        15Every raven after his kind;
        16And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
        17And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
        18And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
        19And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
        20All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

        A woman came up to me the other day, 12/6/2016 and said:
        "But Mr. Winner, if GOD loves everyone then why is there so much suffering in the world?"

        Because GOD doesn't love everyone. Too many people have this absurd idea in their heads that GOD is all loving.
        If he was all loving, then murderers, thieves and homosexuals would be waiting for you in Heaven.

          I don't think I could trust myself with a dog. I don't have a television.
          But a young magpie seems to have befriended me. I cook it steak, and occasionally pie & cakes. It brings me worms. It's not on the list you put - unless it's an ossifrage - but it doesn't come inside. Thanks for that Mr. Sinner.

            You're very welcome, Sister.

            I'm glad that you have found a nice magpie for a friend that you cook steaks for (how lovely for you) but you are going to burn in the lake of fire if you don't find yourself a husband to cook for instead.

            Run along now missy.

              It's a known fact that magpies steal things. Rossini wrote an opera ("The Thieving Magpie" - "La Gazza Ladra") based on a true story, but gave it a happy ending. In the original a young woman was executed for a theft crime that was later proved to have been committed by a magpie. The woman was probably guilty of something else, probably befriending magpies, or else Jesus would not have let it happen.

                Hello Mr. JenningsBryan.
                Thank you for the Rossini. The snare drums were so rousing - they are often used with electronic music to good effect - and the piccolo always gives me a thrill! It is one of my favourite instruments!
                Matthew6:26 suggested that I ought to feed Bird when its tree blew down in a storm. It's quite young, and I've shown it how to catch worms.
                The woman was probably guilty of something…
                She was French. That would probably explain it. There are no French people here!

                Things do seem to be heading in that direction, don't they? It doesn't sound at all fashion conscious. Do they dress for dinner?
