No, LordOfLight, go back and read the hippopotamus post. There is no reason God could not create the Earth with ratio of C-14 and C-12 isotopes preset in the appropriate remains, and the longer-lived isotopes (Pb-206 and Pb-207, and U-235 and U-238) already at proper ratio to indicate a total "age" of 4.6 billion years.

I think that Richard Dawkins said as much, for comedic effect, but I haven't been able to scope out the quote yet.

Amen Brother OEJ. Indeed, for someone who calls themselves "Lord of Light", they are totally unfamiliar with Einstein's relativistic effects and the speed of light. It is known as "time dilation", and it is very easy to understand that if God was traveling at or near the speed of light when He created the universe then the six days could easily have compressed the estimated 13 billion year age of the universe. All the other effects, like carbon or other isotope decays, could easily be derived and understood.

Praise Jesus! Yes, faith can surely overcome the God-hating lies of secular "science". Faith is knowledge direct from God; science (so-called) is based on the appearance of the world; therefore faith is greater than science.

But because the atheists believe only logic and evidence, we should use these lines of God's argument as well.

I'm not quite sure how to argue this one but I take a stab at it...

Science gave us every convienence of modern day life (including the ability to create this forum!)

Faith hasn't been so kind. It's given us dozens of crusades, suicide bombers, and a whole lot of unwanted strife.

I can't find an aspect of faith that is greater than science.

Meh, I'm pretty sure there are no fires of hell. Have you personally seen these fires, Sir Temperance? I would think not. The Bible does not give proof of their alledged existance either. If you claim the Bible gives proof so, I can just as easily prove the Harry Potter books give proof that there is a secret world of wizards and witches and Harry Potter is flying around England on a broom.

Imagine that you are created with a physical age of 18 with...no evidence of your past. You have no memories. You cannot ride a bicycle, because that knowledge is not in your brain. You cannot read. You cannot even talk!....

Just so with the Earth! If God was to create a functional, naturalistic Earth, then He in His wisdom must needs create the evidence of Earth's long past.

No doubt about it. Besides, why would God bother waiting 14 billion years all by his lonesome to get around to the creation of Adam, when he could do it all at once in less than a week? Thinking that God caused 14 billion years of cosmic expansion and natural selection happen just to create us is awfully egotistical of the human race, and an insult to God's infinite intelligence. I'm sticking with the 6 days + 1 plan, myself. Old universe evolutionism simply makes no sense.

It seems like a lot of work for God to create everything as it is. Wouldn't it have been much easier to set everything up, like a chain of dominos, let it go and not have to worry about it?

The Lord loves us, so he gave us the precious gift of free will. Once He did that, however, He could hardly sit back and let the inmates run the asylum without imposing any rules. God's watching over us is just like parents raising children, it requires active involvement. He that spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. Proverbs 13:24.

As for creation being a lot of work, it was. God is our Heavenly Father, and he labored mightily to provide for us, His children. But those who won't care for their own relatives, especially those living in the same household, have denied what we believe. Such people are worse than unbelievers. 1 Timothy 5:8 Anyway, God's not some negro, always looking for any excuse to avoid work.

Looking at all the responses I am not surprised why America has no choice but to hire foreign workers in the science field becuase America is too busy discrediting science while people in other countries are busy studying REAL SCIENCE. Evolution is a historical event, while an unemployed carpenter dying on the cross for our sins is not an historical event. People in India, China, S Korea, Brazil and Europe study science to make the world a better place to live for all mankind. That's why most of the graduate programs in science at top unversities in the US is filled with foreign students. It is science, not the bible the reason why we live this long and healthy. All the modern conveniences came because people invested in science. If this discredit evolution trend continues then America will have to bring in more and more dark skinned, slanted eyed people to work in the areas of biotechnology and medicine because god's children will are not willing to study science. The reason why Islam was able to advance from the 600 AD to 1400 AD was because they embraced science and math while the christian world shunned science that's why the term Dark Ages came about because christianity did not embrace in science.
