Hello all, I was wondering if someone could help me understand something. Why can't atoms exist?

Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.Originally posted by zoonswoggle View PostHello,

And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

I know right. If we aren't the center then we should be moving aloing with it and notice no difference.Originally posted by James Hutchins View PostNext, we are at the center of God's universe. Re: An Open Invitation
So I assume blue shifting would be things getting closer, right? I've never noticed anything take on a red hue has it moved away. And how does movement effect light? I though you secularist say matter can't move faster than light?Originally posted by Physics! View PostRed Shift Theory states that as objects move away from each other, the wavelength of light (or sound as the case may be) is shifted so as to be longer (to the red end) of the the light (or sound) spectrum.
This contradicts the bible as using the Red Shift Theory, along with being of great use in radar and sonar technology, shows that not only are the different galaxies moving away from one another in the universe, but that we aren't even in the center of the universe either. This means that the universe was not specially created by god for humans.
Anyway, how does it demonstrate that the Earth is not the center of the universe?
Sounds to me like you're saying light is a semi-solid object, behaving like a spring, and is being stretched out. A compressed spring (in its natural state) is blue (or normal?) and a stretched out spring is red. I thought you secularist think light is photon particles or some other Star Trek nonsense?
Let me get this straight. Bear with me here.
Say an object is a watergun and the light emitting from it is the water. I'm spraying you in the face. Instead the the water being directing at you in a continuous stream you postulate that it's more like a stagnant string of mucus. As the watergun backs away from you the stagnant water-mucus is stretching away like some kind of slim.
See, I'd have just figured as the object backed away the amount of water inbetween would increase as the water is being projected constantly, instead of the existing amount stretching. Please, friend, help me to understand YOUR viewpoint in this matter because you're sounding alittle retarded.Last edited by Remy Lebeau; 04-20-2011, 12:29 PM.

Re: An Open Invitation
The Red Shift has nothing to do with political ideology. Your credibility was destroyed immediately with that statement.Originally posted by James Hutchins View PostLOL, even I, a mere Biblical laymen, can destroy that!
First off, there are no commies in Heaven.
Actually, some galaxies are moving towards us. Also, we can tell by the degree of shift the relative velocities of the other galaxies, and we can use other methods to determine their displacement from us. We are not at the center of the universe.Next, we are at the center of God's universe. If we assume you are correct, then all distant items would have this shift as they are moving away from us. Do they? If everything exhibits this, then we are at teh center of the universe and the Bible is right again (of course).
There is no "red sound". Red Shift Theory also applies to sound. If you're on the side of the road and here a siren coming towards you, it's higher pitched than it would sound if the siren were stationary. It's lower pitched when it's moving away from you. Pay attention next time a fire truck, ambulance, or police car passes you.Next, I have never heard red sound. Please provide an example of it.
The Red Shift theory has nothing to do with the sky.Next, why would not God give us an incredible sky to view? How does that mean God did not make it for us? How is that Biblically incorrect?

For too long Unsaved trash have been claiming Christians are ignorant, uneducated, superstitious fools as if we were ignorant, uneducated, superstitious idiots like the hindus, joos, mooslims, catlicks, presbyterians, scientologist, unitarians, anglicants, wiccans, warlocks, buddhists, confusionists, gnostics, lutherans, pentacostals, realians, voodoo witchers, pantheist, quakers, kabbalist, rastafarians, seeks, taoist, shintoist, pagans, neopagans, humanists, deist, agnostics, pastafarians, darwiniacs, sufis, potheads, druids, samaritans, zoroastrians, mithraist, reikist, shamanist, totemist and other assorted satanists.

Dear Jesus,Originally posted by Remy Lebeau View PostI'm still not feeling that your apology is sincere.
You didn't even include Jesus in your apology. Why do you hate Jesus?
Sorry for believing you when you said that you were bread. Since I know that you never lie nor deceive (John 7:8-10), I assume that it's just one of those secret things that belong to the Lord (Deuteronomy 29:29).
Forgive me for taking you literally, Jesus!
Sincerely Your's,

Was that good enough for you, Remy? I hope it was, but either way, I'm off now.

You'd better hope, for your sake, that Jesus isn't confusing you. If so, you are truly lost.Originally posted by Ravel Puzzlewell View PostDear Remy Lebeau and Landover Baptist Church,
Please accept my sincerest apologies for claiming Jesus was some sort of bread-monster. Since God is the author of confusion (Genesis 11:7-9 and 1 Corinthians 1:27), I'm sure you can understand why an idiot like myself wouldn't understand when things in the Bible are metaphorical when they aren't clearly labeled as such (such as Jesus's parables). Maybe one day the Holy Spirit will guide me and help me realize just which verses are metaphorical (such as the fact that Jesus wasn't a bread-golem) as opposed to those which are strictly factual (the six-day Creation, talking serpents and donkeys, one woman damning the entire human race, the Flood and Noah's Ark, the Tower of Babel, Jesus's miracles and Resurrection, Paul fighting sorcerers, the existence of Hell and even the existence of God Himself).
Sincerely Your's,

2 Corinthians 4:3-4
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
You had best hope that your mental demons are just an unfortunate set of circumstances. Then perhaps Jesus will caste the foul spirt out if your apology is sincere and you fall to your knees and beg for forgiveness.
Mark 9:25-27
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
Fight the demons. You do not want Jesus to get involved or the demons may have to come out the hard way (possibly out of the anus) and hurt something awful.
I'm still not feeling that your apology is sincere.

Ah, Ephesians 4:26. It really does explain why you Baptists are so angry about everything all of the time.Originally posted by Remy Lebeau View PostAre we failing as Christians by allow night? Should we be stopping the sun from moving through the sky?
"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:" Ephesians 4:26
Of course, I would argue that True Christians™ should be stopping the sun from moving across the sky, especially when angrily rebuking people.
"Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day." Joshua 10:12-13
All that extra daylight might even help you see any iron chariots coming your way.
"And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron." Judges 1:19
Anyways, since apparently my last apology wasn't sufficient, allow me to try again. Since I'm a retarded monkey-worshiper, I'm sure you can understand why I'd be having trouble with this.
