It would seem as though my post didn't register, so I'll repost it.

The term "Oriental" was frequently used to describe Asia in general. The Middle East is considered a part of Asia.

"Orientalism" referred to the study and depiction of Asia in works of science or art. Most forms of Orientalism focused on the Middle East.

Now, when most people think of the term "Oriental", they think of East Asians, as opposed to we Southwest Asians.

I fail to see any racism behind my post, but I apologize if it offended you in some way.

Actually Nobar. Yes, they pretty much all do...
Culturally for thousands of years, millions of them have eaten tofu.
It is as much a staple of their diet as potatoes and bread to western cultures.
