    Leviticus 11:10

And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

How come this abomination is apparently overturned by the new testament then?

This is a most excellent question, and the answer shows the subtlety of God and reveals much about the way his plan for us unfolds over time.

Ask yourself this: Why did God put some of his laws in Leviticus 18 and others in Leviticus 19? Here's the answer, which also answers your question. Compare the final verses of Leviticus 18 with those of Leviticus 19:

For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God. Levitcus 18:29-30

Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:37

Things mentioned in Leviticus 18, like homosexuality, bestiality, and my favorite, sister-sister nakedness, are abominations, which are eternally banned. Even Jesus could not change them.

Acts that God prohibited in Leviticus 19 are not abominations, so therefore Jesus could change those prohibitions. For example, Leviticus 19:3 requires us to obey our parents. Yet, in Matthew 19:29, Jesus says:

...every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

New Testament, new rule. Of course, just because a particular sin is not an abomination, that does not mean that you can ignore the law prohibiting it. Only Jesus had the power to repeal these misdemeanors. So don't go around prostituting your daughters without clearing it with the Lord, first.

Yeah I have shaved my beard, but not have not had buttsex, whatever that is.

Brother V, those questions are born from the secular laws, apart from the lying one and the adultery one, if that is what the question was suggesting (because the Bible's law can clearly be interjected over the top of them). If you asked me what the secular law said about being a homo and shaving I could answer your question, both are not illegal. But we are talking about what the BIBLE says here.

    You are an idiot.

All you have to say is yes or no.

Here's how I would answer it.

    1. shaving; not a sin

    2. gay sex; sin.

Not based on any biblical justification or anything at all. That's how I feel.

How would you answer these questions (oh wait; you can't answer a simple yes or no question so there's no way you'd be able to come up with an answer to these; but try anyway)

    Is speeding a sin?
Is kissing a girl who isn't your girlfriend a sin?
Is smoking marijuana in amsterdam (where it isn't illegal) a sin?
Is drinking a beer in the U.S. and being under 21 a sin?
Is bombing an abortion clinic a sin?
    Is lieing a sin?
Is telling a bum that you don't have any change (when you do) a sin?
Is NOT giving to charity a sin?

After you answer those, I'll let you know why I asked those questions.

    V

Excellent idea. But why are we discussing God's rules for a good Christian life in the Creation Science forum? Unfalse, you are aware that there are forums specifically set up to discuss clean Christian living, aren't you?

...do not let your different animal species mate... do... not sow your fields with two kinds of seeds, and do not put on clothes made of different materials!
You are right. We do not let different species mate, double sow our fields, or wear mixed fiber clothing.

We should all know this, 7 days impurity. Anyone who TOUCHES her will be unclean!
Right again. That's why Sister Mary Maria and other True Christian(TM) women only post in our forums 3 weeks out of every four (it's also one reason why we can't have a woman as President). We aren't completely heartless, though; since 2004 we've provided them with Bibles to help relieve their boredom.

Friend, are you trying to understand? Or just trying to be a pain?

Faggotry is wrong, there's no way around it; there's no place in the Bible (KJV1611) that says that having the gay sex is acceptable.

Beard trimming ONLY has to do with the Jews and their ceremonial laws.

    It comes down to this.

Do you think shaving is a sin?
