We know meteors are real, we have recorder several. A meteor about 40 feet in diameter struck over a small town in Russia blowing out many windows and injuring many people. A meteor strike over the Nanib desert was recorded by many weather satellites. The 1972 Vela impact over the Mediterranean sea was recorded my seismographs in the middle east and Europe.
Most significantly, a meteor in 1908 about the size of a twenty story apartment building struck over Tunguska Siberia. This rock exploded with the force of 1000 Hiroshima bombs, cleared 1800 square miles of forest, and knocked down and estimated 8 million trees. And the meteor did not even hit the ground, the immense heat of moving through the atmosphere caused the meteor to explode 5 miles above Earth's surface. Fortunately, not many lived in the area so their were no fatalities but several were injured. Google the Tunguska event for more info.
Since my explanation goes on the basis of the spherical Earth model, I will not state it for you will just ignore it anyway
