  • Geologists Confirm Date of Jesus' Crucifixion

    Friends,

The Creation Science community is abuzz with the latest findings from a crack team of geologists studying earthquake activity in the Dead Sea region. We know from the Holy Bible (KJV 1611) that an earthquake accompanied Jesus' crucifixion.

    Matthew 27:50-53
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
    And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

By studying varve sequences from three core samples taken from boreholes located along the shoreline of the Dead Sea, the Creation Scientists were able to determine that an areally extensive earthquake in the region occurred in 31 B.C., with another regional earthquake occurring between 26 A.D. and 36. A.D. Using scientific intuition, they were able to narrow down the most likely date to Friday, April 3, 33 A.D.

So there you have it. The next time we get some know-it-all atheo-fascist in here telling us we have no extra-Biblical evidence for Jesus' temporary sacrifice, you can use this as an example of conclusive proof found outside the Bible.
    II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

PRAISE! Scientific intuition is the very best method possible for these sorts of things, after reading the Bible. I bet that within the next 25 years they'll have found the evidence for the walking dead saints, too. Unless, of course, the rapture comes first.

You will be pleased to know that this team is now working on validating the sky going dark during the crucifixion, as described in Matthew 27:45. Their hypothesis is that it was caused by a dust storm. Evidence should be forthcoming. They way I see it, any evidence of a dust storm in the region between 14 A.D. to 46 A.D. should confirm this. Scientific intuition will narrow it down further... perhaps even to Friday, April 3, 33 A.D..

Williams is studying yet another possible natural happening associated with the crucifixion - darkness.
Three of the four canonical gospels report darkness from noon to 3 PM after the crucifixion. Such darkness could have been caused by a dust storm, he believes.
Williams is investigating if there are dust storm deposits in the sediments coincident with the early first century Jerusalem region earthquake.
Maybe when this task is complete, they can provide independent verification for the discovery Noah's Ark.

There is some curious, but somewhat circumspect, evidence for the Biblical flood from scientists under the guise of the "genetic bottleneck theory" and a human mass "extinction" occurring in the past. For starters, they rely on "evidence" based on "evolution" (which we know to be false), and the scientists as usual have their time frame numbers wrong (i.e., the earth is only 6,000 years old). Some contend that it was caused by a massive volcanic eruption ("Toba catastrophe theory"), while others say not. They are still arguing about it.

According to the supporters of the genetic bottleneck theory, between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago, human population suffered a severe population decrease—only 3,000 to 10,000 individuals survived—followed eventually by rapid population increase, innovation, progress and migration.[26] Several geneticists, including Lynn Jorde and Henry Harpending have proposed that the human race was reduced to approximately five to ten thousand people.[27] Genetic evidence suggests that all humans alive today, despite apparent variety, are descended from a very small population, perhaps between 1,000 to 10,000 breeding pairs about 70,000 years ago.[28] Note that this is an estimate of ancestors, not of total human population. Isolated human populations that eventually died out without descendants may have also existed in numbers that cannot be estimated by geneticists.

At first I was sceptical about the truth of this story, but I googled it on the internet and found a story claiming that scientists have now narrowed down the timeframe further, to 3 pm on Friday 3 April 33 AD. Can anyone else confirm this?

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
