I would just like to take an opportunity to examine two possibilities.

Door #1: The Bible is wrong (it's not) and there is no afterlife -- or some bullsh*t feel-good afterlife where everybody gets in (Jesus forgive me for even bringing up the idea). Nothing bad happens; not even to the Christians that spent their lives living according to the Bible.

Door #2: The Bible is right (which it is) and all the scoffers burn in a Hell that is worse than "spending an eternity with xtians" as you so put it.

    or

Door #3: You win a brand new car!!!!

Except there is no Door #3 and Door #1 really only has a brick wall behind it.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, I will fear no evil...

You are showing your blatant disregard more like it. It's pretty obvious to me that your real intention is to see this boy damned.

Teehee, that's funny coming from one of you guys! If any one of you can come up with any concrete evidence of a 'hell' or 'heaven', then I'll eat my words. But, you won't. And sorry, sweetie, the bible doesn't count as evidence.

You are showing your blatant disregard more like it. It's pretty obvious to me that your real intention is to see this boy damned.
So wanting to give someone all the facts to make their own decision is wanting to see someone damned, eh?

Ah well, what's to be expected. The words 'intelligence' and 'logic' don't appear in the bible, so of course you'd think such things to be blasphemy.

Then again, computers don't exist in the bible either, so oh no!! Paradox!! Whatever are you going to do??? If you don't believe that anything not mentioned in the bible is real, then do you think you're dreaming this forum and your computers?

          Explain that one, fundies.

Oh I see, your information is giving someone all the "facts". A tad egocentric don't you think.?

You know that it is the knowledge of good and "evil" that came from original sin? We just preach the good, clearly you preach the evil.

I see that your idea of debate is to twist the words I say. I never said he shouldn't read the bible if he doesn't wish to. Simply that learning about evolution would be a good idea, from there he could compare the two, and make up his own mind.

I think you are just being difficult and want to cause an argument. You know evilution is considered a heresy here yet you insist on bringing that idea forward.

You are just opening the door to damnation to this lad. Don't you feel any shame?

My dear 'Doktor' (I'd worry about seeing any supposed doctor who spells it with a 'k', by the way! Even if your first language isn't english, if you were smart enough to get a PhD, you'd know the english spelling of 'doctor' just saying. ) clearly the idea of offering a young person freedom to think for themselves is 'heresy' to you. You're obviously afraid that, given the choice to study both the bible creation theory and evolution, anyone with half a brain would see which one obviously makes more sense and thus you'd lose a potential source of tithes.

You are just opening the door to damnation to this lad. Don't you feel any shame?

                  Oh, you can, can you?

Then explain to me how it's possible that the sky is just a big glass dome with tiny lights attached to it, as mentioned in Genesis? Or how the entire human race descended from two people when the genetic effects of incest and inbreeding are thoroughly documented?

Well, in my mind, to break a conversation down to a personal level is a clear demonstration to me that you feel you are loosing ground. What has the spelling of my name got to do with anything? That's like me stating that Van Helsing clearly sounds like a name from a Bram Stoker novel and that you have no more relevance as a human being because you are clearly derived from a fictional character. Hard words indeed. But I will not stoop to that level. And for the record, I'm very proud of my PhD, it was bestowed on me when I joined Landover. I consider it a badge of honor.

Now back to the topic. It's very important to guide young people with a strong moral compass. Young people are very susceptible to ideas that they don't fully understand. This can be exploited against young people. Remember, the Devil works in very subtle ways. Take the music industry for example. It will pitch a product at a market to appeal to a younger audience. This is done with one object in mind, to make money and be-damned any other consequences. So, before you know it, the young person is breaking into shops and selling themselves on the street to fund 50 cent and Snoop Doggy CDs. They will not understand their mistake until years later.

It is up to people with a strong faith to right this wrong and to give young people the best possible chance in life. That, my friend can be found through Christ and Christ's agents.

I believe you are doing more harm than good by offering the young lad a "choice". The choice you are offering is a pitfall for the unsuspecting and will ultimately lead to his damnation. Yes I feel that strong about it and strongly resent your pseudo science.

Little JimmyB clearly needs a strong sense of direction. Not choices. He did not ask for what choices he should be given. He asked what was the right thing for him. The answer was simple and we told him.

                    Let's see.......nope!
Considering that I don't fear a place that doesn't exist, nor should anyone else. Including you guys, but I doubt you'll ever change.
Well then, let me say: shame on you, your works are the works of the Devil!

No I will not change. My faith is founded on the rock.

                    Oh, you can, can you?

Then explain to me how it's possible that the sky is just a big glass dome with tiny lights attached to it, as mentioned in Genesis? Or how the entire human race descended from two people when the genetic effects of incest and inbreeding are thoroughly documented?
I was not stating a position of superior intelligence as you seemed to have taken it (though it would be natural for a True Christian to see that). I was saying that I'm intelligent enough to refute any heresy, which my dear, you are full of.

I've been kind to you and have not submitted any Biblical evidence, because you have asked for a discussion founded more on ideas than hard and fast truths (like the absolute truths that can be found in the Bible.) You have stated categorically that you do not want us quoting from the Bible. But here you are, drawing in the Bible to support your argument. This is not Queensberry's rules, you certainly like to get one under the belt when you can.

Here is my positon on Genesis and Adam and Eve, It's factorial, it's in the Bible. It doesn't get any simpler than that. I will not argue this with you.

I can understand how this may seem challenging to you. But it's rather simple when you apply your mind to it. You just need to understand that God is all knowing and omnipotent. He has abilities beyond mine or your's comprehension.

And finally we need to add the most important ingredient of all. Faith. If you have faith, you can accept all this and never need to question it.

What, you think that we are some kind of stationary and office supply store? This is God's favorite Forum. We abide by the Bible (KJV1611) 100%.

If you think Jesus would disapprove, you are going to have to back up your assertions with Scripture. There is no white out on our shelves. Put your catalog down and start reading the Bible (KJV1611).

Stapler, we here at Landover Baptist Church follow the entire Bible. Not the bits we like, not the parts that are convenient, but ALL of it.

We back up our assertions with Scripture.

Can you back up your assertion that Jesus would look at His favorite forum in horror with Scripture? Or are you horrified, as we are, with the recent influx of Jesus-hating trolls, witches, homersexuals, and pro-wrestling fans? (Redundant, I know.) They make Jesus sick, which is why He will cast them into eternal torment in Hell . . . for ignoring His Word!
