"omg" : a more un$avED Word I have not heard in a month of Sundays

You're not one of that chink Hitonmi's little nippy friends, are you?

Man! I just can't wait for the fun to start if Mrs Betty Bowers runs across this one!

What has the spelling of my name got to do with anything? That's like me stating that Van Helsing clearly sounds like a name from a Bram Stoker novel and that you have no more relevance as a human being because you are clearly derived from a fictional character. Hard words indeed. But I will not stoop to that level. And for the record, I'm very proud of my PhD, it was bestowed on me when I joined Landover. I consider it a badge of honor.
Bestowed when you joined? So in other words you didn't even need to do any actual study to get this 'PhD'? That's what you're saying, right?

Now back to the topic. It's very important to guide young people with a strong moral compass. Young people are very susceptible to ideas that they don't fully understand. This can be exploited against young people. Remember, the Devil works in very subtle ways. Take the music industry for example. It will pitch a product at a market to appeal to a younger audience. This is done with one object in mind, to make money and be-damned any other consequences. So, before you know it, the young person is breaking into shops and selling themselves on the street to fund 50 cent and Snoop Doggy CDs. They will not understand their mistake until years later.
Yeah, because you hear about that happened oh 'so' often.
Most kids actually develop real taste after awhile and throw away that sh......er, dreadful stuff.

It is up to people with a strong faith to right this wrong and to give young people the best possible chance in life. That, my friend can be found through Christ and Christ's agents.
In other words, by brainwashing them to believe a pointless myth?

I believe you are doing more harm than good by offering the young lad a "choice". The choice you are offering is a pitfall for the unsuspecting and will ultimately lead to his damnation. Yes I feel that strong about it and strongly resent your pseudo science.
So offering him the chance to use his brain will lead to his 'damnation' according to your beliefs? Well, that says plenty about your religion, doesn't it?

Little JimmyB clearly needs a strong sense of direction. Not choices. He did not ask for what choices he should be given. He asked what was the right thing for him. The answer was simple and we told him.
No, that answer was what was right for YOU, not for him.

Well then, let me say: shame on you, your works are the works of the Devil!
So anything logical = evil according to you?

No I will not change. My faith is founded on the rock.
Oh, I'm sure it is. *Snicker*

I was not stating a position of superior intelligence as you seemed to have taken it (though it would be natural for a True Christian to see that). I was saying that I'm intelligent enough to refute any heresy, which my dear, you are full of.
Really? Then explain to me what causes day and night to happen?

I've been kind to you and have not submitted any Biblical evidence, because you have asked for a discussion founded more on ideas than hard and fast truths (like the absolute truths that can be found in the Bible.) You have stated categorically that you do not want us quoting from the Bible. But here you are, drawing in the Bible to support your argument. This is not Queensberry's rules, you certainly like to get one under the belt when you can.
The day that I take anything in that book as a 'hard and fast' truth will be the same day I strip naked, smear myself in peanut butter and go running down a main road shouting 'Eureka!'

Here is my positon on Genesis and Adam and Eve, It's factorial, it's in the Bible. It doesn't get any simpler than that. I will not argue this with you.
If that were true, we'd be inbred and deformed beyond all comprehension. The fact that the gene pool is SO wide pours is evidence otherwise.

I can understand how this may seem challenging to you. But it's rather simple when you apply your mind to it. You just need to understand that God is all knowing and omnipotent. He has abilities beyond mine or your's comprehension.
        Or......'he' doesn't exist.

And finally we need to add the most important ingredient of all. Faith. If you have faith, you can accept all this and never need to question it.
I'm sorry, but a questioning mind cancels out faith.

And see, this is where it gets sticky. There is proof of the big bang and evolution. The bible was a spoken story full of metaphors that was written down and left in metaphors.

So in all probability, that lovely passage I LOVE so much " And God said, let there be light" is a metaphor for the big bang. TADA! Like me, you can believe in BOTH! -does her heathen jig-

Apparently we are one and the same my friend.

Tell me, what kind of Pagan are you? While I am secure in my Shamanism, I am always curious to learn more of the other religions. Sometimes I find things in other belief structures that make sense to me on a personal level that I can intergrate into my own personal beliefs....I would love to talk to you over a messenger service or something...I have my AIM and YIM listed in my contact information...

I'm a bit of an eclectic Pagan in that I mainly am the one way but incorpate bits and pieces if that makes sense. Hermetic is a big part of it, though.

Most Pagans today are eclectic. It's mostly the older generation Pagans that follow one main Pagan belief system, like Shamanism, exclusively.

I lost this thread in the Battle of Nigra Sqaw. I think you should be quarantined like her. You are clearly not fit to mix with human company.

My PhD from Landover is for True Science™. I had a previous PhD from Bayerisches Institut für Informatik but that was revoked after a misunderstanding. It was in Veterinary Science.

I also have a certificate in Demonology which I am very proud of. Do you want to pry into my personal life any more?

The rest of the points are null. I have made mine and you have made yours. I think now we would go around in circles. You are clearly hell bound.

It cuts straight to the heart of the matter - you can shilly-shally around for months on a case like this; you can involve social workers and community leaders (what do they do?) and no one is getting anywhere - we are commanded to shun sinners and atheists.
