Young lady, there is no need to shout. A good Christian is a good listener so there really is no reason to yell at the top of your lungs.

Now that to your position point: who was promoted?

"The Sun and other stars use nuclear fusion to release energy. The sequence of nuclear fusion reactions in a star is complex - but, in general, hydrogen nuclei join to form helium nuclei. Here is one nuclear fusion reaction that takes place"

Have you seen that with your own God given eyes or do you just believe everything you are told?

I don't have enough faith to be an atheist.

Son, all I see is your confusion here. As Titus mentioned, it's kind of dumb to believe there is nucular power plant inside the sun. Those are white hot coals, son! White hot! Think about it for a minute - how could anyone build a high tech power plant on white hot coals?

But that isn't possible. The sun was created by God and since then was shining everyday the same.
    Nuclear fusion
Nuclear fusion involves two atomic nuclei joining to make a large nucleus. Energy is released when this happens.

    That's how the fusion works.

Mary, I thank you for that typically American Christian welcome to these forums. I would like you to know that I intent to cite no scripture as references to any kind of scientific post. My posts are my knowledge, should I need to reference and cite external scientific sources and journals, I will do so. I am a man of science, not a man of God. I am an atheist, a scientist and a skeptically minded free-thinker. I would also like to thank you for pointing out how many rights I am granted on this site, again, how typically Christian and American of you.

I look forward to helping you people realise that whilst it is okay to have a religion, to begin to question the scientific reasoning that has advanced us so far as a species, and indeed now allows you to communicate via this forum, is the most offensive thing you can do as humans.

Thanks again for making me feel at home here.

As for your use of the Second Law of Thermodynamics in the theory of evolution; it's not really valid. The laws of thermodynamics refer specifically to simply, isolated systems, systems of few variables. The comparison of the entire ecosystem of the planet Earth to such a system is a gross over-simplification. However, for now let us assume that it holds for this system.

Over time, in any given system, entropy must increase, at best it can stand still, but it can never go backwards. However, what you have misunderstood in this law is the scientific definition of 'disorder'. Disorder means Complexity. If you think about it, if something is very complex, there are a lot of variables present, a lot of things going on. This is generally referred to as a disordered state, because not everything is the same.

Now, you move onto a source of energy for all of this, well, I hate to break it to you, but we do have such an energy source. The Sun; our Sun, our Star, Sol, Helos, whatever you want to call it. This giant ball of hydrogen and helium creates vast amounts of energy through nuclear fusion. This process has provided energy to the planet
ever since the creation of the solar system, 4.5 billion years ago. It provides the light for photosynthesis, creating plants for animals to eventually feed on. Creating the weather, seasons and the warmth we require to survive.

All the pieces are there, we have the evidence, we have the research. What's more, we have thousands upon thousands of texts, all by different authors conducting their own, independent research. And they all agree with each other. Evolution is scientifically understood fact. Period.

I want to mate with kelvin. Evolution is not going away. The evidence for it is only growing. Radioactive decay strongly supports the Earth being over 6000 years old. Our huge collection of many fossils strongly supports evolution.

Evilution, on the other hand, argues that we start off simple and, gradually over time, grew more complex. By the Second Law of Thermodynamics, that just isn't possible, since we would be trending toward disorder rather than complexity.

Such a phenomenon (which I might add, is entirely theoretical) would require a large external power source, supplying the earth with huge amounts of energy. If there was such an energy source, one would expect that secular "scientists" would know about it.

Without accounting for an external source of energy, the evilutionist conspiracy falls apart at the seams. Not only does the Bible provide evidence against Darwinist evilution, even secular science confirms that the Bible is true and evilution is false.
