I would like to share with you the sad truth of Gothic Science. I was comtemplating the pointlessness of life and felt the need to express my sorrow in poetry. Me and a couple of my fellow hellions were in the local music store parking lot ridiculing the multitude of conformist when I had an epiphany...
A human animal experiences the world through sensations; typically in the form of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.
Sight is perceived via the eyes. It is composed of distinct parts which render light into an electrical signal. I won’t get into the details of cones, retina, irises, etc. Ultimately, sight is the brain’s interpretation of electrical impulses which in turn are a conversion of various frequencies.
Smell is perceived via the olfactory nerves. Basically, certain compounds produce odorants which come into contact with and chemically react with olfactory nerves. Again, I won’t get into the details of bulbs, epithelium, etc. The olfactory sense works under the same principle as a carbon monoxide detector, for example. Only when our olfactory senses detect an odorant and convert it to an electrical signal does our brains interpret smells. Smell is the brain’s interpretation of electrical impulses which in turn are a conversion of the reaction to various molecular compositions.
Hearing is perceived via the ears. Varying waves of air pressure are trapped and directed by the outer ear’s shapes. These waves of air pressure interact with specialized cells within the inner ear which trigger an electrical signal to the brain. Sound as we know it is an interpretation of this electrical signal by the brain.
Taste is perceived via the taste buds. I think we get the picture. Some chemical reaction takes place and an electrical signal is sent to the brain.
Touch is these same nerves responding electrically to the brain. Again, you got the picture.
Now taking all of these things into consideration there are a few things to be noted.
1.) Sound as we hear it, Sight as we see it, Touch as we feel it, Taste as we taste it, and Smell as we smell it are interpretations of the mind; psychological in nature. Furthermore, the mind can fabricate sensations without external stimuli.
2.) Physiologically, everything boils down to an electrical signal. Rather it is smell, sight, touch, taste, or smell it is all electric pulses.
3.) All these electrical signals are, for all intents and purposes, the same material (electrons) traveling through a conductor (neurons). The electrical signals produced by the olfactory nerves are just as much bursts of electrons as the electrical signals produced by the optical nerves. The same electrons, or the basic raw energy that they compose of, that are moving through your computer monitor may at some time have been moving through a human being.
4.) Despite the commonality of the electrons moving to and from the brain each organ reacts to a specific phenomenon: the visible light spectrum, odorants, tactile pressure, air pressure, and chemical reactions/compositions.
5.) The human brain dedicates several non-specific regions towards the interpretation of specific sensations. Now if a person was to have their eyes plucked out, those portions of the brain that previously interpreted vision would start interpreting something else. Basically, the brains mass has no specific functionality when it comes to sensation.
6.) In order to interpret these electrical signals the brain (being hardware) must have the software necessary to know what to look for, how to differentiate various organ’s signals, and how to render the different signals into the appropriate sensation.
As mentioned before in addition to interpreting exterior stimuli the brain generates its own electrical pulses which operate the various organs of the human body on a subconscious level. There are also our own intentions that manifest as electrical signals to our various muscles. This is an internal stimulus. Another internal stimulus is sounds, tastes, tactile sensations, smells, and images in dreams. Where is the internal stimuli generating from?
The brain is considered the seat of thought and consciousness. This thought and consciousness, like its fellow neurons that send electricity back and forth through the body, is a mass of cells. A mass of cells composed of molecules. A bundle of molecules made up of atoms. All atoms pretty much boil down to hydrogen. And we can break hydrogen down into protons, neutrons (ion), electrons, quarks, gluons, and perhaps even strings. And these things can theoretically be broken down into pure energy.
Physiologically, we could say that consciousness equates to energy; that energy is conscious. The laws of physics, light, gravity, chemical reactions, cell division, etc. would then be conscious acts of matter and energy. The uniform nature of the laws of physics would indicate that matter acts under a unified collective will.
This same ultra cosmic will has, in its seemingly infinite power, willed the human animal to fornicate, steal, murder, covet, etc. essentially stacking the cards against us. Let's not fool ourselves my True Christians flesh bags. You are no more a miracle than a amobae or a blade of grass. God hates you all and have designed to contrary to its will. You act and react unconciously to all manner of stimuli without a single clue as to why. Blind, deaf, and dumb the human animal crawls through life in the same fashion as a dog. You constantly seek pleasure and happiness in a world of sorrow and misery. Utter foolishness. Our souls, if that's what you'd call it, exists to suffer.
