The respect she deserves is the respect any sinner deserves. Unless she was Born Again (and I can't recall any Scripture that says she was), then she's no different than you, and God saw her as a pile of dirty menstrual rags (Isaiah 64:6 ) until He sought to toss her into the very Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15).

A cat in Heaven is as bizarre a concept as Mary (Jesus' surrogate mother) in Heaven. Brother FM, I am starting to worry for you.

The Bible says all animals that breathe should praise the Lord:

Psalm 150:6

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

So this would not include spiders and insects which don't have lungs and rely on some other gross method of moving air through their bodies.

But anyway, I don't think the Bible would command anybody or any thing to do something they were not capable of.

So in the above verse, we learn that animals are not only capable of understanding God's majesty, but of praising Him for it.

Sounds to me like they're therefore capable of devoting their lives to the Lord, and thus have the potential to be in Heaven with Him after they die.

Your confusion likely results from your biased and propagandist catechism. If you will recall the visions of Joseph said to his father Jacob (Israel; Genesis 35:10) and his mother and their children (Genesis 37:9-11), you will note the twelve stars refer to the twelve tribes of Israel. While Jesus is the son of Mary, in a greater sense He is the Son of David (Luke 18:38). You might say Israel gave birth to Christ Jesus. An unbiased look at the chapter in context will reveal the woman in Revelation 12 is Israel dear, not Mary.

He did not dismiss her. He dismissed her question about the wine. It was the last thing documented about conversations between them. They went on to spent several days together after the wedding.

Again, you seem to be confusing Jesus' obligation as her son with some obligation you imagine we have.

We respect and venerate Mary exactly how much the Bible says we should respect and venerate her.

We know He is no respecter of sinners (Psalm 5:5), and getting knocked up out of wedlock is a sin almost as ancient as putting raw veggies on the altar (Genesis 4:3-5; Hebrews 11:4) when really it is the aroma of burning flesh God finds pleasing, and soothing (Leviticus 1:9; Numbers 29:8; Exodus 29:41). But, if you can show me the chapter and verse in which the Holy Bible specifically talks about Mary's Conversion Story, I'll take it all back.
