I'm an atheist. I'm well aware that you don't need to believe in a God to have moral ethics. However, I do have to wonder how you can claim with such certainty that your version of God is right when you have exactly as much prove as these Landover people - namely, NONE.

If God is doing such a wonderful job protecting humanity from killing each other, then why are you in a war? Why did your friends die?

List of wars and anthropogenic disasters by death toll


Just a short list of the millions and BILLIONS of people who have been killed in wars and man-made disasters (genocides, famine, human sacrifice/ritual suicide, colonization, germ warfare, slave trades). All without your loving God stepping in to do anything.

And in case you want to argue this is because of man's wickedness, please explain the similarly huge number of deaths caused by natural disasters.

I reject this argument outright. Without God there is no morality. Without the Bible there is no God.

Are you claiming to be a member of the United States Armed Forces, pal? Because that can be verified, and making such claims falsely is not only a serious sin it is a federal offense.

If your friend died in Iraquistan it was because Jesus wanted it so. That's what the Bible says and I for one believe it.

No Bogdana God whispers nothing in my ear, and I do not claim to falsehoods that he does. But throughout the bible there are more instances of God's love then what this one man shows. And thats what I strive to live my life by. Thats what drove me to become a Soldier. Because I love with all my heart and believe in people. And I will give my last breath as long as I know that there is at least one decent individual left within this world to carry on the torch.

So make up your mind, do you follow the Bible or don't you?

(Note that this number is a gross underestimate of the total number. It doesn't include, in many cases, women and children, and it completely leaves out some of God's more impressive kills. (Like the flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, the firstborn Egyptian children, etc.) So what happens if you use estimates when the Bible provides only numbers for adult male victims or no numbers at all?

So insults are how you deal with people? And you are right, I am hateful, intolerant and judgmental just as you are. But I don't hate without a reason, and I don't hide behind the bible. And I will not tolerate people such as yourself. And I judge based off actions not based off of religion, race, sex. We are very different you and I. You are just plain uneducated trash the type of person I was warned all my childhood about. So do you and your church get together with the Westboro bunch?

Jesus Himself was not afraid to use insults on others if it knocks some sense into them. He wasn't some kind of gutless hippie who stood around and said "Okay, no fighting....everyone is equal....I love you all."

No, try reading the words of Jesus Himself for a change. This is what he has called other people:

Ma'am I have been misguided before in my life, and I admit to that. I found God again the day I watched my friend die in the desert of Iraq. And the God I love isn't what this man teaches. It just saddens me to know that this type of behavior is still present. Are our sacrifices not enough, to show you that no matter what sex, religion, or race we all have worth? Have not enough of my brothers and sister been killed to prove to you that no matter what we believe in we fight for you? And God doesn't care what religion they say they are, or what race, or what sex.

Really, how do you know this? Did God whisper it in your ear?
