    A Challenge to Our Intelligence

That's about another puzzle that has been insulting our intelligence for 2000 years: The Roman guards who were asked of Pilate to watch the tomb for three days.(Mat. 27:64)

According to the writer of the gospel of Matthew, the chief priests had to break the Sabbath and, worse than that, a Shabbaton, because it was the first day of Passover, the 14th of Nisan, to go deal with Pilate about surveillance of a dead in the graveyard.

This is an evidence that the guys who wrote the gospels had a very poor knowledge of Jewish culture and customs to picture religious Jewish priests dealing with Pilate on that Sabbath for a group of soldiers to guard the tomb and to prevent anyone from desecrating it.

So, those priests were supposed to take those soldiers to the graveyard, which priests were forbidden to enter, especially on the Sabbath, and do the physical work to seal the tombstone. And all during that Shabbaton.

When that Sabbath was over, which in Israel is at sunset, the same gospel writer sends some women to the tomb with the purpose to anoint Jesus' body. The man had probably forgotten the guards to prevent the approach of any suspect.

The women had one thought in mind only: Who would remove the tombstone. No one thought about how to fight the soldiers to approach the tomb. Obviously they would know they were there. Evidently, the three days they were supposed to watch the tomb turned out to be one.

When the women got there the place was deserted. Instead of the guards, the author reports about an earthquake, when an angel came down from heaven and removed the stone; but the women could not do their job, because there was no one in the tomb; Jesus was not there. Even the angel had been cheated out of being an eyewitness.

Obviously, Jesus had been removed from that tomb even before the alleged guards had been settled at the area to watch.

Then the soldiers, that the women had not seen at the tomb, appeared at the house of the priests to say that the tomb was empty and of course, to get a good bribe with the advice to spread around that while they were sleeping, Jesus' disciples had come by night and stolen the body. That's the insult to the intelligence even of a moron, let alone to those who have a mind to think.

How could intelligent Jews give such an advice? How could the soldiers know that the tomb robbers had been Jesus' disciples if they had been sleeping? What about Roman military discipline? The soldiers would all be executed according to Roman military laws. Josephus, who would go down to small details even of family intrigues, never mentioned a word about such a thing.

That's the puzzle that has been insulting our intelligence for too long. Any suggestions?

    Ben

    Here are my suggestions:
    1. Stop spamming every discussion forum on the interwebs with the same argument. Do you honestly think that we can't do a Google search?
    2. Post an introduction in the introduction forum.
Thank you, and have a blessed day.

"Our" intelligence. As in "we" are not amused? Are you trying to appear to be British? Are you gay?

Is "Ben" short for Benjamin? Could you be a joo?

Or are you a Jap that has anglicized his name? Is Masada really Mazda?

      What else are you hiding?

I am not spaming anything. I am not a Christian; I am Jewish, and I live in Israel. It's only natural that I should want to know something about Christianity, and I find much exciting to do it through forum discussions. Your hostility only reflects fear that you might not have an answer to my questions, albeit in essay form.

Are all these hostile questions your answer that you don't know how to explain something in your own NT? You give me the impression that I have stopped at a false religious cult instead of a Christian church.

Why do you ask if I am gay? Is it because you are one? That's embarrassing for lack of a better word. No, I am not British; I am an Israeli who lives in Jerusalem. And yes, I am Jewish. Does it scare you to think that you could learn a lot from a Jew, member of the same Faith that Jesus used to belong to, Judaism?

No one knows which day of the week our LORD was sacrificed on Golgotha, thanks to you people!

Do you think we celebrate the literal birthday of Christ or you are unmensch?
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Allow me to put a sharper point on Brother Levi's polite response to your rambling inquiry.. An unrepentant Christ-killing Jew, such as yourself, will NEVER understand God's Word until they ask the Risen Lord to enter their heart and cleanse away their unrighteousness.

Are you ready yet, oh filthy Jew, to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Or does God need to give Israel another pounding before you'll listen to His message of love?

Its all in the Bible, Joo, read it and weep:

                Matthew 27:25-25
When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

You have absolutely no right coming here on these Godly forums to persecute us and abuse our good Christian nature. God damn you! God damn you to hell! I hope Jesus laughs as we all will when you are thrown into the abyss and sodomized by demons for all eternity! God damn Joo! I hate you! I hate you for killing Jesus! How could you filthy Joos kill the baby Jesus??? God damn you all! All the wars in the world are your fault! You hook nosed money pinching lying decieving Joos! God damn you all!

Stop lying about the Bible, Jew.

The events of Matthew 27 did not happen on the Sabbath. Pay attention and you might learn something:

                  Day 1: Jesus dies.

And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre. Matthew 27:59-61

Day 2: The priests ask Pilate to post a guard:

Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. Matthew 27:62-66

                  Day 3: nothing happens

Day 4: The day after the Sabbath; Jesus is risen.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:1-6

Jesus rose on day 4, which was the day after the Sabbath. Therefore on day 2, when the priests asked for a guard to be posted, it was not the Sabbath.

We know what's going on here. You're spinning your Jew lies to try to weasel out of your Jew guilt for killing Christ. Well, that might work on Catholics, but it won't work on us, because we actually read the Bible, and we know that you Jews bear the guilt for killing Jesus and the other prophets.

WWJD has already addressed this misunderstanding of yours.

Why would they need to fight soldiers, if they were there to anoint the body?

Obviously they would know they were there.
Upon what do you base this speculation? The archaeological evidence that the priests sent a courier to Jesus' disciples (who were likely all in hiding at the time) to tell them there were guards posted? The ancient Internet connection at Mary Magdalene's house?

When the women got there the place was deserted. Instead of the guards, the author reports about an earthquake, when an angel came down from heaven and removed the stone; but the women could not do their job, because there was no one in the tomb; Jesus was not there. Obviously, Jesus had been removed from that tomb even before the alleged guards had been settled at the area to watch.
Please provide your evidence beyond your ridiculous conjecture. Were you there? Do you have evidence from another source?

Then the soldiers, that the women had not seen at the tomb, appeared at the house of the priests to say that the tomb was empty and of course, to get a good bribe with the advice to spread around that while they were sleeping, Jesus' disciples had come by night and stolen the body. That's the insult to the intelligence even of a mormon, let alone to those who have a mind to think.
Yes, it is insulting to Mormons and people who can think. Of course nobody would believe the soldiers were asleep while someone stole a body, because soldiers never sleep. Everybody knows that.

How could intelligent Jews give such an advice?
Well, here's a conundrum. They had God incarnate before them, and wanted to kill Him. How exactly do you justify calling them "intelligent"?
What about Roman military discipline? The soldiers would all be executed according to Roman military laws. Josephus, who would go down to small details even of family intrigues, never mentioned a word about such a thing.
Please show us your lengthy investigation into Roman military laws.

That's the puzzle that has been insulting our intelligence for too long. Any suggestions?
Read the Bible and see what it actually says, instead of lying about it and speculating?

OK, on to your other Jew lies:

Priests were not allowed to touch dead bodies, except those of close family members. Nowhere does the Bible say that priests could not enter a graveyard. That's just a stupid rule the rabbis made up long after Jesus's death to keep the priests in line, because the rabbis were turning Judaism into a religion of rabbi-worship, and the priests were resisting.

the same gospel writer sends some women to the tomb with the purpose to anoint Jesus' body.
The gospel writer didn't send them, they sent themselves.

The man had probably forgotten the guards to prevent the approach of any suspect. The women had one thought in mind only: Who would remove the tombstone. No one thought about how to fight the soldiers to approach the tomb. Obviously they would know they were there.
Obviously??? Why would they have had reason to believe there were Roman soldiers there? They weren't there when the priests asked Pilate to post guards, were they? They didn't visit the tomb in the meantime, did they? It's obvious that they would not have known about the guards.

Evidently, the three days they were supposed to watch the tomb turned out to be one. When the women got there the place was deserted. Instead of the guards, the author reports about an earthquake
There was an earthquake and an angel of the Lord came down to unseal the tomb, revealing that it was empty. The guards then rushed off to tell the priests what happened. They hardly would have stopped because they saw a couple of Jewish women nearby.

when an angel came down from heaven and removed the stone; but the women could not do their job, because there was no one in the tomb; Jesus was not there. Even the angel had been cheated out of being an eyewitness.
That's a total non-sequitur. This wasn't about putting on a show for an angel, it was about the redemption of mankind from Sin.

Obviously, Jesus had been removed from that tomb even before the alleged guards had been settled at the area to watch.
That's ludicrous. You honestly expect us to believe that the soldiers didn't bother to examine the tomb's contents before they sealed it?

Then the soldiers, that the women had not seen at the tomb, appeared at the house of the priests to say that the tomb was empty and of course, to get a good bribe with the advice to spread around that while they were sleeping, Jesus' disciples had come by night and stolen the body. That's the insult to the intelligence even of a mormon, let alone to those who have a mind to think.
You'd be surprised how little it takes to insult the intelligence of a Mormon--a little booze and a couple of brass plates and they'll rush off to start a new religion--but that's irrelevant to our discussion, don't you think? As for the story, what would you have said if you were a priest? Tell everyone an angel came to take Christ's body? Once you Jews murdered Him, it's no surprise that you started lying about it to cover your asses. And why do you say that Mary and Mary Magdalene didn't see the soldiers at the tomb? The Bible doesn't say that.

How could intelligent Jews give such an advice?
How could intelligent Jews reject Jesus? That's proof positive that you're not as intelligent as you think.

How could the soldiers know that the tomb robbers had been Jesus' disciples if they had been sleeping?
Hey, don't ask us to explain your Jew lies.

What about Roman military discipline? The soldiers would all be executed according to Roman military laws.
Again, that's a Jew lie you're asking us to explain. The most likely explanation is that they hopped on the next galley out of Judea before Pilate could catch up with them--that's what I would have done if the priests had just paid me a bundle to tell everyone I was asleep on my watch.

Josephus, who would go down to small details even of family intrigues, never mentioned a word about such a thing.
Glad you mentioned Josephus as an authority, since he accepted Christ as his Savior.

That's the puzzle that has been insulting our intelligence for too long. Any suggestions?
Yes. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior before it's too late, Jew.
