Hi all, I am a fresh member here, and as such, I am not sure where to post questions. My inquiry is as follows: I have been studying the bible for some years now, and I have only the bible depicted by Martin Luther, and translated by Mikael Agricola to Finnish. Has my study of the bible been in vain by the perspective of the Baptist church? By my recollection, Martin Luther translated his bible from the original Greek version.

Re: Is my bible study in vain?
It is vain as you have not introduced yourself in our Introduction part of the forum.
But Luther in his purest form is not too bad as he explained the place of the unbeliever quite well, particularly the joo.
"I had made up my mind to write no more either about the Jews or against them. But since I learned that these miserable and accursed people do not cease to lure to themselves even us, that is, the Christians, I have published this little book, so that I might be found among those who opposed such poisonous activities of the Jews who warned the Christians to be on their guard against them" From Martin Luther's On the Jews and their Lies 1543.
Sadly Luther did not back this quote with direct scriptural reference to our KJV of the Holy Word of God. Though he may have referred to Mathew 12:34 "You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks."
But if you have left Lutheranism and joined us at LBC you have taken the first step to purification and holiness! Welcome!!

Re: Is my bible study in vain?
To answer your question, yes, so long as you subscribe to the false and blasphemous doctrines of the Lutheran church, you are wasting your time and condemning yourself to eternal hellfire. Take a look at THIS.
Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.
And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Re: Is my bible study in vain?
You could do worse than reading Luther's Bible, since he based his Bible on the Textus Receptus -- just like the King James Authorized Version is.
One of the problems is that Luther based his work on the second edition of Erasmus' text (King James is based on the third edition), which means Luther doesn't include the Johannine Comma.
1st John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
For some strange reason Luther also transformed the female apostle Junia into a man named Junias:
Romans 16:7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. (KJV)Romans 16:7 Grüßt Andronikus und Junias, meine Stammverwandten und Mitgefangenen, die berühmt sind unter den Aposteln und schon vor mir in Christus gewesen sind.
So all in all, the sooner you start reading God's own word (KJV1611) the better.
A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left. (Ecclesiastes 10:2)

Re: Is my bible study in vain?
Thank you for your quick replies. I know this might be too much to ask but do you know of a way to get a copy of KJV bible in Europe? I cannot seem to find one anywhere in Finland. Luther's versions everywhere...

Re: Is my bible study in vain?
I'm not surprised only the demonic versions of the Holy Word of Jesus is all you can find in the puss filled bastion of sodomy and drug abuse that is called Europe. Perhaps you can use the internet to search for the KJV1611 instead of viewing pornography, MSNBC and other unholy excrement that permeates the web?
I pray in Jesus' name!!
