    Burqa on Blackberry Phones

    Source

Gulf states order Blackberry users to cover their phones in a tiny burqa

New laws in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will require that every Blackberry user dress their phone a miniature burqa and face veil.

‘The Blackberry burqa means that people can still use their phones,’ said a Saudi government official, ‘but the tiny niqab that covers the screen will stop them from reading emails or accessing the Internet.’

The introduction of the burqa is intended to conceal the Blackberry from unwanted attention. With the veil in place only a tiny slit remains revealing just the time and date, thus preserving its modesty.

‘This is not about censorship or oppression,’ said UAE telecommunications regulator Mohammed al-Ghanem, ‘this is about preserving the essential purity of the Blackberry and protecting it from being corrupted.’

Some businessmen believe that making their phone wear a burqa can be
very liberating. ‘It’s great,’ said one, ‘with the veil in place I am free to walk about with my Blackberry in public without the feeling that people are staring lustily at my multi-media application. It also covers my shame for not owning an iPhone.’

Some religious groups have welcomed the policy. ‘If Allah had meant us to freely access the Internet He would have given us web browsers in our heads,’ said a local imam, adding ‘There is absolutely no mention of instant messaging in the Koran and at no point did Muhammad, or any of his eleven wives, ever say LOL, ROFL or PMSL.’

If the Blackberry burqa is successful it may spread to other countries. However, experts say that dressing your phone in a burqa could result in poor reception, especially in France and Belgium.

The British government has yet to declare an official line on phone burqas although Immigration Minister Damian Green said that to ban them would be ‘very unBritish’. He went on to explain that, ‘the British thing to do, as always, is to grumble and tut.’

The Saudi government have promised that anyone who refuses to dress their Blackberry in a burqa will face harsh punishment. ‘I am not saying exactly what we will do,’ said their Minister for Justice, ‘but suffice to say that it isn’t so easy to text with your toes.’
Why are they doing this? Why are they such religious fanatics? .. Oh wai..

That imam sounds like you guys. Did someone here convert to Islam and do this? lolz..

I believe our Pastors that use Blackberries would display them proudly. My husband does not keep a little burqua on his, unless you count his belt loop holder as a 'modesty' item.

Sounds like it's just made up for the laughs...
      My Nokia N95 doesn't have a Burqa...neither does my husband's phone.

        UmmAbdulmalik this is disturbing:

        1. Why do you have your own phone?

        2. Where did you learn how to work it?

        3. Does your husband know this?

        4. Who would actually call you? (Obviously there are gentleman callers )

        5. In regard to item #3 this obviously means that you are committing Adultery?

        6. Did you know that Jesus wants whores like you to burn in hell?

        The word of the LORD is proven;

              I still don't understand

Why you would need a phone? With your household responsibilities such as pie making, cleaning, weeding, bearing children and making you husband comfortable being your daily priority where would you actually get the time to mindlessly chat???
Furthermore as you should never leave the house without your husband so your own phone is clearly pointless

If I am at my Mother In laws studying cooking or sewing, he calls me to tell me he will pick me up at this or that time.
Or if I have an appointment, he calls me to tell me to get ready...

I don't get much time for mindless chat... Once a week when my DH is sleeping at the Mosque I go and sleep over at my friends house where we talk & cook

Brother Davidson, I also have a phone, not that fancy mind you, but if the car breaks down or something happens, it's an emergency lifeline to my husband.

                    Mrs. Umm....
I'm a little concerned about you. You do sound like you would make a wonderful Christian wife. Won't you please give up this silly moon god of yours and get right with Jesus?
