False Christians don't know about religion.

Then again, if they did, they wouldn't waste their time being false Christians, now would they?

    From the JYT:

Basic Religion Test Stumps Many Americans
    By LAURIE EVILSTEIN

Americans are by all measures a deeply religious people, but they are also deeply ignorant about religion.

Researchers from the independent Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life phoned more than 3,400 Americans and asked them 32 questions about the Bible, Christianity and other world religions, famous religious figures and the constitutional principles governing religion in public life.

On average, people who took the survey answered half the questions incorrectly, and many flubbed even questions about their own faith.

Those who scored the highest were atheists and agnostics, as well as two religious minorities: Jews and Mormons. The results were the same even after the researchers controlled for factors like age and racial differences.
It's pretty sad that false Christians tend to know less about religion than Christ-killers, magic-undie-wearers, or even God-hating atheisn'ts — who by definition don't know a thing about religion, or they'd wake up and realize that salvation is through Jesus Christ, not Charles Darwin.

Here is how the God-hating monkey-worshipers are spinning it:

That finding might surprise some, but not Dave Silverman, president of American Atheists, an advocacy group for nonbelievers that was founded by Madalyn Murray O’Hair.

“I have heard many times that atheists know more about religion than religious people,” Mr. Silverman said while masturbating with a picture of Christine O'Donnell. “Atheism is an effect of that knowledge, not a lack of knowledge. I gave a Bible to my daughter. That’s how you make atheists.”
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Re: False Christians don't know about religion.

I heard about this, they have the quiz up over on CNN.

I don't see how anyone could have messed it up, I got 10/10. Then again, if you go to the very bottom of that thread, you will see that it really is the false christians that screwed up on the quiz.

Barely half of all Catholics know that when they take communion, the bread and wine literally become the body and blood of Christ, according to Catholic doctrine.

    ....

And only about one in three know that a public school teacher is allowed to teach a comparative religion class

    .....

White Catholics averaged exactly half right, followed by mainline Protestants and people who said they were "nothing in particular," both of whom got just under half right.

Black Protestants got just over a third of the questions right, and Hispanic Catholics just under a third, the Pew Forum found.
Then after mocking us believers, they actually mention this
The single strongest factor predicting how well a person does on the religious knowledge quiz is education - the more years of schooling a person has, the more they are likely to know about religion, regardless of how religious they consider themselves to be, Pew found.

People who were members of religious youth groups also did well, he said.
"Religious education is an important factor that helps to explain knowledge - people who participated in youth groups get an average of two extra questions right," he said.

      Also 10/10.

The big problem here is whenever atheists look down their eletist noses at us and say "we're too stupid to understand our own religion" they always hold up the fuzzy bunny false christians.

So only 30% of the colored folk know about Jesus? Is any True Christian surprised about that stat?
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Re: False Christians don't know about religion.

Easy 10/10, but question 9's answer isn't correct.

The "correct" answer from the selections is, "An agnostic isn't sure if God exists."

The true correct definition of an agnostic is somone who doesn't believe we can know God. It's the opposite of "gnostic", someone who does believe we can know God.

I, for example, being a True Christian, am a gnostic theist.

Pew Forum has a 15-question short version here. And here's their results:

Naturally, atheists are gloating that they know more about religion than Christians.
What makes this interesting is the charge, often made by religionists, that the ‘New’ Atheists don’t even understand what is they’re attacking. They don’t understand religion. . . .

But of course by this standard most religious people don’t understand religion either, which rather begs the question of what religion is. Are these ‘ordinary’ religious people simply uneducated? Or, if confronted by the rarefied, intellectual and theologically correct version of religion, would they reject it?

In other words, is the ill-informed, theologically incorrect version of religion more real than the true religion?
I don't see a "True Christians(tm)" section in those results, do you? I bet not one of their calls was placed to Freehold OR to North Salem.
        Bible boring? Nonsense!

You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

I got 15 out of 15 on the expanded one as well. Although I agree with you that some of the answers were wrong due to their simplicity.

What was Joseph Smiths religion? Shouldn't the answer really have been what day of the week is it? Or himself? That man changed religions about as often as he changed his underwear.

I took it as well. 15 out of 15 on one and 10 out of 10 on the first.

The question on Joey Smith was rigged, correct answer was Snake oil Salesman.
