I thought that the video was hilarious. Thanks for the good laugh .

Religion seems to be largely absent from the futuristic and secular world of the Federation and in particular from human society. Star Trek's takes on religious topics are often critical, and they almost routinely close with a victory of science over faith. This is anything but a surprise, knowing that Gene Roddenberry was an active atheist who struggled against any form of religion:

"I condemn false prophets, I condemn the effort to take away the power of rational decision, to drain people of their free will -- and a hell of a lot of money in the bargain. Religions vary in their degree of idiocy, but I reject them all. For most people, religion is nothing more than a substitute for a malfunctioning brain." (Gene Roddenberry)
Your faith is touching Mr Martin, but like the church of Rome, not based in reality. As I understand Him, Jesus died that those who believed might be saved. I think it unlikely that any of Roddenberry's creations were catlix.

Unfortunately as Mr R is presently having his skin peeled from him and his eyes gouged, we will not be able to ask him. I suggest that you support the proposition that Star Trek is evil and stop asking Capt. Kirk to intercede on behalf of your flock.

2005 Ignoble Peace - Presented jointly to Claire Rind and Peter Simmons of University of Newcastle, in the UK, for electrically monitoring the activity of a brain cell in a locust while that locust was watching selected highlights from the movie Star Wars.

By using a fast approaching Darth Vader as the “looming stimulus”, and monitoring the response of her (let’s be honest) captive audience with sensors resembling acupuncture needles, she was able to add greatly to her knowledge of the locust’s collision-avoiding capabilities. Even if, in this instance, the locusts couldn’t actually duck – or, in fact, blink. Locusts can’t, you see.
A little reported after effect of this was that, when released from the experiment, the locusts, all male, started “at it” in the style of Sodom and Gomorrah!

If it works on a locust, it’ll work on someone with the brain the size of a locust.

So why are we even discussing this?
Brother Ahimaaz I think they are missing the key point here; which side is Jesus backing in this? While I think we can agree the Empire has the idea when it comes to spreading freedom let’s face it; the Federation is the United States, a distorted liberal version of America yes, but America all the same. So Jesus is going to stick with His chosen elect here I would say and back the Federation. (That and frankly who can respect an Empire that gets its’ but kicked by teddy bears?)
