I was just wondering Dr Niles whether if the muslims come from Europe and the metal comes from Europe then is metal the cutting edge of jihad in America?

      Hello John,
Is this a rhetorical question. a veiled threat or an admission of guilt? Just askin' like.

I have come here to get answers, and what do I find...? Christians cursing metalheads, metalheads defending their rights as Christians...

I just found the purest metal/hard rock band for your taste.

Visit any forum that you wish, but the Bible states salvation is from the Lord. We state what's in the Bible. Doesn't get much simpler than that.

I managed to read the pale turquoise but the highlighted section didn't come out so I've altered that to Aquamarine. There is no such thing as a Christian rock band.

Practially every one of the top 40 records being played on every radio station in the United States is a communication to the children to take a trip, to cop out, to groove. The psychedelic jackets on the record albums have their own hidden symbols and messages as well as the lyrics to all the top rock songs and they all sing the same refrain: It's fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins.

            2. Drums are the instruments of satanists, devil worshipers and pagans, and should never be listened to. The rhythm has been proven to have a brainwashing effect on children, and slowly converts them to satanism. If you hear drums, block your ears! I cannot stress this enough.

            3. Rock music encourages rebellion. The Lord orders us to submit to unto him, but with this rock and roll in our ears, we are likely to rebel against Him and His word. Further, the music teaches children not to listen to the wise counsel of their parents. How can we raise our children to be good Christian Americans when they listen to this rebellious filth?

            4. Rock music encourages homosexuality and transvestism with men wearing make-up, and even dresses or skirts (which they try and say are "kilts", ha! We know better than to fall for that! Clearly rock represents a homosexual agenda, with all male groups touring the countryside in one bus. Most likely they are sharing the same bed as well, but let's not get into that.

            5. Rock encourages women to start thinking for themselves, and to believe that they don't need a husband to guide and lead them. So-called female rockers parade on stage singing about nonsense like "independence". All such performers are lesbians or possibly bisexual, as some travel alone with large groups of men.

            6. So-called "Christian" rock groups are the worst of all. Not only do they put the name of our almighty God into these "songs" with drums and guitars, which is the height of blasphemy might I add, but they're also part of the same agenda as the rest of them. They attempt to fool good Christian children and parents into buying their music in order to brainwash them and convert them to satanism.

            7. Rock tries to tell us that the government is wrong, but only when a Republican is in office. Look how they've stopped doing that since Comrade Obama muscled his way into office. They've always wanted to destroy our beautiful capitalist country with their socialist ideals. Remember, it's a small step from rock music to communism.

            8. Rock music encourages promiscuity and whoredom with their overly sexual lyrics and innuendo. They parade around on stage and in videos half-naked in an attempt to convince young girls (and boys) that they want to have sex with them. Studies have shown that children and teenagers who listen to rock are 22% more likely to have sex with older persons.

            9. Rock concerts are often used to present propaganda about "peace". This is a clear distraction from the war that God has ordained us to win. If the rock musicians were in charge, we'd all be living under the rule of the Saudis by now!

            10. Lastly, rock music encourages us not to read God's Holy Bible. The lyrics of nearly all rock songs are laced with subliminal messages telling us to burn our Bibles and submit to the will of Satan! We must ensure our children read the Bible instead of listening to this filth.

You may think this is harmless. Satan wants everyone to think that. That's how he get people into the fire with him where everyone will be tortured forever. The Bible explains that is what everyone is born deserving.

            Ephesians 2 . KJV . look up
            2
In time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Celebrating evil, the evil of eating toadstools and freaking out at a "drum workshop" for example, is not something a Christian would do, or even could do, because this is an idolatrous and wicked thing to do. But the metal drummer will attend such debauches or even wilder events seeking a new hypnotic rhythm or potent drum timbre for use later. These are melded into all rock music and particularly the metal.

Other points are listed and you can read that thread explaining how the demoniac gets started with metal. Mrs Whitford has collected some examples of where that path can lead especially when heathens get involved. So if you listen to The Skillets, consider:
            1. Where did they learn their rhythms?
            2. How did they come up with that drum sound?
            3. Is this really a Christian band?
            4. Should I keep their music?
            5. Or should I burn it.

When people dance to heavy metal, the cacophony is so loud that it rattles the bones. That's not all it rattles. No wonder the poor fools dancing under its spell soon start to think about what "rock" actually means and before you know it it's in with the immodest apparel and broided hair which confirms point 10 right there!

When a person dies, the heart stops beating. At this point, brain activity continues for about 6–8 minutes, producing copious amounts of the chemical called DMT, or N-dimethyltryptamine – the strongest psychedelic ever known to mankind. It is also the chemical responsible for you dreaming every night. Heaven then, would be your ego tripping balls to all the great stuff you’ve done. Hell would be you feeling guilty and blaming yourself for all the times you had been an asshole.

That's an interesting.... guess. But the Holy Bible doesn't say anything about chemicals, the existence of psychedelics, or self-blame. Jesus blames us, that's in there. That's kind of the whole entire plot of the Bible, actually. Jesus blames us for being born in sin, then in an epic plot twist, He sacrifices Himself so we can avoid His vengeance. Have you accepted Him as your Savior yet?

Obviously, we would never accept merely scientific evidence, but don't you think that if you're going to make a claim like this, you ought to at least try to provide some reason not to treat you like an ignorant "doped-up" headbanger? I count at least five claims there, plus a non-sequitur conclusion.

                    Mr. Famine,

We are well aware of the still far-fetched assertions about endogenous n-dimethyltryptamine. You have here two claims that should be assessed, principally by you before you present them. As you failed to do that, we are here to assist you. Praise Jesus! Your two claims are as follows:
                    1. DMT is responsible for out dreaming.
                    2. It is responsible for the near-death experience.
OK, time to look at available evidence. There is none. There is only a hypothesis based on the work of Barker et al. They studied rats. After that, widespread speculation began.
In 2013, researchers reported finding DMT in the pineal gland of rodents — the pineal gland in the brain produces melatonin (a hormone derived from serotonin) which affects sleep patterns and circadian rhythms. This study sparked the widespread assertion that DMT occurs in the human pineal gland and is released during dreams as well as at or shortly before birth and death, but the claim still needs to be scientifically verified with further research.
Dr. Strassman became an enthusiast and studied people exposed to this chemical.
Dr. Strassman hypothesizes that when a person is approaching death or possibly even just in a dream state, the body releases relatively large amounts of DMT. The majority of his volunteers reported profound encounters with non-humans and deep spiritual experiences, and Dr. Strassman believes that DMT could explain some of the wild imagery described by survivors of near-death experiences as well as those recounting their dreams.
Now, I must compliment Dr. Strassman, who admits that this is a hypothesis. You, however, report it as fact. This is called confirmation bias. You cling to the data that support your preconceptions and dismiss any doubt and uncertainty. It is a devious way to disregard God. The Bible tells us that God is responsible for some of the most magnificent dreams related to Jesus Christ.

                    Matthew 1:20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Now we can make a hypothesis. If God was a product of endogenous DMT, He should appear only during REM sleep or the near-death experience (we shall call this hypothesis 1). The method of Creation Science is unbiased, so we search also evidence not supporting the original notion (hypothesis 1). If God also appeared during regular waking consciousness without any immediate death treat, hypothesis 1 would collapse.

As it happens, Paul (who was called Saul back then), encountered Jesus in broad daylight, no REM-sleep, no mortal peril. He was just strolling on a highway minding his own business, when...

                    Acts 9:3-4
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Q.E.D. Hypothesis 1 fails. God remains a much more plausible explanation. Therefore, God exists. I am sure, however, that you appreciate the unbiased assessment that we gave your hypothesis.

                    Yours in Christ,

OK, OK, I also must admit I listen to jazz, blues and country, but nothing is as bad as metal.

Let's see how long it will take until I get my 7th infraction.

I'm just saying, not that I care at all where you want to spend your afterlife.
I do not want to become a TC. Just a non-catholic Christian.

And I am not looking anywhere else.

But not all users here are TC's. Some of them think if they write something everyone believes it.

I can tell you that I am not rich.

And gotquestions.org does not look anywhere else than in the bible.

We all here have one believe, but seperated in different sub believes.

I was also talking about posers. Everybody could be something else than what he pretends to be here.

You seem to be honest even without your TC status, but I am not sure if everybody else is in here.

Even on this board arguments can happen, oh well.

I totally understand the infrigments you gave me.

I bet you think my goal was to be different.

                                Well, kind of.

But I am not intending to be a troll.

                                Trust me.

Well, if you can trust me. If you cannot trust me, then it is my fault.

Maybe we have the same believes but not the same thoughts.
