Adventure Camp is FULL for March 2018

With apologies to those who were hoping to send their sons to March Adventure Camp, registration closed as of February 24th. It's sure to be a rewarding time in the Lord as 30 young men venture unsupervised except by Skype (Thanks, Faith Machine, for taking the night shift) and Facetime. This year, the campers will be left in the area of Colorado Springs, CO, near the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. For 15 exciting days, these young men, ranging in age from 8 to 17 (yes, we relaxed our rules this year, Praise God!), will learn to build their own shelter, find their own food, and hike into the areas underneath the Bridge as they are given Biblical instructions regarding developing their manhood in ways that glorify Christ Jesus. Our goal is to have all 30 return to their homes after their character-building experience. Parents are urged NOT to contact their little campers by phone or otherwise since this takes away from the experience of being able to handle things like a true man.


April Camp will take registrations until March 24th, so get those applications in. The location of April's exciting adventure will be Faith Machine's special "Girls' Foundations of Faith" compound in the rural areas of San Diego, CA and is, obviously, restricted to girls. This year's theme is "Don't Be a Dyke, Sis!" Safety is paramount and all of the compound is under 24 hour video surveillance. Unfortunately I will NOT be participating in this camp due to prior commitments. But I can't wait until ALL-BOYS camp again in May in upstate Vermont.


I know there are parents who are disappointed that their children were unable to attend camp in March, but that's your own fault.

I plan to be there giving my 'How to stuff a sleeping bag' demonstration, talk and one-on-one demonstration. We will cover cleaning the bag, getting in a bag, staying warm in a bag, unsticking a zipper and proper checking for bodily parasites.
Be sure to have your boys sign up. Again, please only ages five to ten only.

Brother Jim,
This is truly exciting news! I know you had indicated interest in being an instructor but you had to be sure you could find all the materials you needed for a successful lesson series. How gratifying it is to know that the boys will be in your hands.


For those of you who don't know, Brother Jim is the ONLY Adventure Camp leader who will have actual physical contact with the boys since he has so much experience in training novice soldiers for Christ using tried and true methods. My thanks, Brother, for the caring and dedication you show to our youth.

There will be fire arms training for all the youngsters, right?

In these violent and bloody times, it is more important than ever to teach children how to use guns accurately.


I understand that the young man involved in the mishap down in Florida only killed 17 people, while 15 were merely injured. That means that he failed to hit the target properly nearly 40-something percent of the time. (I'm really not up to the math on this one, and Praise The Lord, I don't have to be.)


If this fella really had been trained by the NRA as the lamestream media are claiming, he would have been a MUCH better shot. If I were paying for target lessons for my child, I would accept no less than a 8 injuries for every 17 confirmed kills. That would be a success rate of . . . Well, it would be better for sure.


So, I really, really hope that any instruction that Landover Baptist provides in this area exceeds that of the ineffective teaching received by that underperforming kid in Florida.

I was thinking, since I am going to be there and my work with the boys will mostly be in the evening after prayers, that perhaps I could a few other voids.
So, just spit balling here:

1. Fire safety is important. How well a small child can perform when suddenly woken from a deep slumber is important. Will he stand at attention and be alert? Will he run to the comfort and safety of an adult male leader? Once the drill is over, we can go looking for supplies for the campfire, searching for morning wood. Young, wide eyed boys seem to never have a problem having morning wood. The glee and self expression is a magical experience between a young boy and a trusted male adult.

2. I was also thinking about doing some security training, this year having the boys do sword fights. A few of the men could demonstrate and we could have some one-one sessions while the rest watched from a safe distance.

This would be appropriate for our session in the Vermont woods, but not for our session this week in Colorado. We are having a temporary suspension of activities while the Colorado State Police try to find four of the youngsters who wandered into the Gorge and have not yet been seen some 14 hours later. God's Will is being shown in this situation and we remain confident that even if these errant boys are not found, the remainder of camp will go as planned. I have not yet heard from Faith Machine, but these boys went missing on his shift. I am completely innocent of any wrongdoing.


Thanks again, Jim, for caring so much about the youth and for showing your manhood to the next generation. It is truly impressive.

The missing children were found in a white van near the border of Kansas and Colorado. Each of them had $100 tucked in their pockets, with instructions to tithe 10 % to Landover. No word as to where the money came from and they refused to talk about anything that happened during their "escape."
Truly this is a miracle from the Lord God.

I just checked my wallet. The money was not stolen from me. Though many times, I have been attacked by young prepubescent boys, been robbed and had my clothes stolen. I guess I am too trusting.
Has the van been returned to its' rightful owner? No doubt they were upset at it being stolen by the boys.

Kids today, they really need to have some God inserted into them.

I just checked the deposit ledger; nothing is showing for your kids at all. Perhaps your husband made a decision to use the money elsewhere? That is his right, of course.


I am so hopeful that your daughters can attend the girls' camp coming up soon and your boys can enjoy Vermont with us after that.


I'll be posting an update/report on the Colorado adventure soon. Almost everyone made it back home, for which we praise Jesus. Please ignore any news stories you might have heard - those were total fabrications and liberal democrat hippy fake news.


Every parent signed a release stating that children may or may not experience injury, including fatal ones. The release also mentioned plainly that the camp is not responsible for anything whatsoever. Jesus watches over us and it is His will if things happen unexpectedly.

Well, it's really not your place to question him as he IS head of the household. Perhaps one of the women of the church could advise you about bringing it up without offending him. As a man, I can't come up with a way to do this that wouldn't deserve a slap across the mouth.

I would like to repeat to those parents who still complain to me about the Raketenpanzerbüchse mishap of last year that clearly Jesus wanted those kids to die. Otherwise He would not have allowed that to happen.

This year I will be more careful during the demonstration as I am sure that is what Jesus wants me to do. Clearly this is one of those cases where reading glasses are actually useful. Thanks for bringing that to my attention over and over and over again.

I will also be bringing my Stokes mortar this year for the toddler event. Someone on jBay sold me some fresh grenades for it so it is certain to be a spectacle.
